to me im not bothered if a man is wankin on cam, I can switch off whatever floats their boatn I certainly wouldnt disrespect them or laugh at them- so what they are havin a wank!!!!!!

This year I have
* Completed my management course
* Got promoted in work with pay rise
*Made a success of my new job
*watched n cried when my lil boy took his first steps
* Seen my beautiful lil girl turn into a bright and assertive individual of which I am so blummin proud!
* Met ppl on here who have become close friends
* Went to our 1st social n had a blast
*Sang Karaeoke badly at social
*Fall more n more deeply in love than ever with Robbie- he is truly my soul mate!!!
All in all a great year roll on the next!!!

I just think it`s a bit of a shame that one of the "common interests" is making newcomers feel uncomfortable when they start threads.
There are certain thread subjects that I avoid posting in because they annoy me, but I could start posting things along the lines of
"Oh, I hate it when people post to say that they`ve sent somebody a PM :roll: "
What would be the point ??? It would upset people for no reason and create an enviroment of hostility and mistrust.
People are always going on about the "Community" in here. I think that the word, community, suggests an inclusive and friendly place.
I do agree with what flower says, as it can be hard, nerve wracking as a newbie when you want to join in but struggle to join in as you feel yr not part of it, if ya get what i mean
I also agree with ukwineman sayin its nice to see the banter!

Speaking as a teacher, I can honestly say that I don't think RE is over-taught. In our school, it's taught from the angle of looking at other cultures and traditions, helping children to understand why some people have different thoughts on various subjects and to empathise with some of the difficulties they have faced in the past.
I'm not religious at all, but I can certainly see the benefits of teaching children those things. It's just a different vehicle for teaching moral and social issues. It's not taught in isolation, rather as a topic which covers all curriculum areas. We teach facts (geography, population, etc.) and beliefs.
Oh, and they aren't all little b'stards! With the best will in the world, they won't all be able to read/write/do mathematics to the same standard when they leave school. As Jaymar said, truancy and absenteeism (with or without parental consent) have a lot to do with achievement.
Speaking as a parent, I know my own children were not over-taught RE and that they are reasonably well-balanced individuals, as anyone from here who has met them will tell you.

I too work with children n we teach RE and I feel it is done in a positive n rewarding manner! it benefits every1

I cant believe how rude some ppl are, if you cant make it fair enough no problem but at least have the decency to let the organisers know. Im sorry there is just no excuse like chilli says shane2s number was sent with all other details we needed!
I know that the organisers have worked hard and had to cover costs themselves due to the no shows so we would like to congratulate them on a great nite, it was great to see ppl we have chatted too and ppl we havent. Lnc and Shane2 you really do deserve pats on the backs for yr hard work and please not let this discourage fewer socials- we had a blast!!!
