OK, better make scarce re: the backlash....all I have to say is go get some taste!!!

Stu - surely everyone is entitled to their own taste. And who is to say whether there taste is good or bad. it's ok to joke but to infer someone else's taste is that bad isn't fair. This world would be terribly sad and boring if everyone liked the same things.
Sorry Alexandra, I disagree, you, as well as anyone, should know the value of being able to express your own opinion, therefore I am neither right nor wrong, but merely me, my own opinion, my taste, but now it seemsI am to be criticised for passing that opinion and therefore falling foul of the very rights you appear to be defending above! I merely offer that ColdPlay, in my humble are shit....
I know that everyone won't appreciate my taste and I don't expect them too...but I expect to be able to pass my opinion.... ColdPlay are shit....rip me apart for it...it is merely my opinion, my taste...say what you will...it won't change...ppl say it about my taste...it doesn't bother me....I don't care I am confident in what I like and know....I don't need to defend it...why do you feel the need to?
Opinion is valid, taste is individual....debate is open....critcism of one's opinion whether it be re: taste or not is petty!!!!
Ok, my wife is a chef...and I may add a bloody fantastic one at that...but we do have a few culinary heroes' who ...as you might say....raise our bread.... or baste our turkey....

Floyd- liked the wine intake...
4. Gordon Ramsey- total attitude ( Stu's speciality)
5. Marco Pierre White...for business sense and out of this world cooking
6. Nico Landenis- inspirational presentaion....

The scene from The Office series one where Gareth, Finchy,David and Tim go out clubbing in Slough. We think it is a classic episode (classic series too) many funny parts but for some reason the following scene get us howling.
Gareth is getting it on with a woman, and he notices a man watching them and asks what his problem is. The woman says its ok thats my husband, do you fancy coming back to ours . Gareth proclaims he will not do it infront of another man and storms off saying no way. The bit that really cracks us up though, is at the end of the episode, you see a glimpse of Gareth leaving in the side car of the couples' motor bike with a scared, shocked and horny look on his face. That look never fails to make us laugh no matter how many times we see it, partly because we are swingers and it involves a swinging couple, but mostly because Gareth's look at the end is just classic and the whole incident is never referred to again throughout the series.
Im not doing it the justice it deserves.........so go and watch it!!!!!
Also from The Office:
Gareth says to Tim:
"He's put my stapler in a jelly again, he knows I hate jelly, I dont trust the way it moves!"
Gareth says to Tim about Finchy:
"He's thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you done?"

So what goes on in here then?

Well, without sounding too insulting I would say it is quite obvious, in fact the home pages of each area of the site explains it pretty well in my eyes, although I know that does assume a certain level of literacy by the site owners in making the effort to define their website (shame on you Mark, can't you do it with pics?).
Ukdogger somehow you got to this site, so one can only assume you have a genuine interest in the lifestyle, so it begs the question why did you ask such an inane question, surely you know the answer, thats why you are here. Or (Stu with his conspiracy hat on again) maybe you are just "fishing" for a story???
Who knows???
At least try to be a little more creative in your posts...check out the threads and see how superbly some newbies have introduced themselves.
Oh hum.

BUT let me say that a considerable amount of couples are just as guilty of rudeness, timewasting & not reading their own ads.

I have to add that single guys aren't the only ones guilty of the approaches discussed above, we have had our fair share of couples too! So come on folks, read the ads carefully,

....and previous forum postings....lol... biggrin lol

Well said Sarge!!!
From another perspective we are a couple who spent a long term wording, rewording, editing and updating our ad on here. It has changed a number of times over the months we have been SH members. At a glance many of the changes won't be immediately obvious, yet the ad has changed significantly. The pics we posted thereon were carefully chosen, resized and offer a very clear indication of what Fran looks like.
We also have a website on here, again this took time, effort, thought and imagination, and on top of this it also took someone elses time, effort, thought and imagination to turn our idea into a fun website (thank you Fred ). We added a number of pics to the site, spending time taking them, choosing them etc.
We added the link to our ad so that it is clickable from any of our Forum postings, we registered our nick for the chat room with our ad number clearly on it.
So, phew, finally my point, we as a couple have spent much time, energy and effort in being clear about who we are, what we are looking for and to a certain extent what we look like. When those famous one liner "wanna shag, I have a moster cock" e mails/pm's come through, we spend as much effort on them as did the respondee, ie right click and delete. When someone takes the time to compose a message to us, tell us a little about them and even send a face pic (as requested in the ad) then we take a hell of a lot more notice.
Our response may still be a polite "thanks but no thanks", but those who make the effort are gonna get taken far more seriously and considered than those who don't. I have to add that single guys aren't the only ones guilty of the approaches discussed above, we have had our fair share of couples too! So come on folks, read the ads carefully, see what the people really have to say for themselves (don't just look at the pics and think yeah I could shag that...one liner on its way) and compose a response like a civilised adult.
Bloody hell, a lot to say there, I know it won't stop the usual suspects (Sun readers I'm told ) but just a thought from the "other" side lol.
Cheers

Now, speaking of Androids - I lurrrrrrrrrrve DATA, he soooooooooo coooooooool - aw, but they killed him off in the last Star Trek movie

They also killed him off in the TNG episode "Time's Arrow", but that didn't stop him smile
I think the Data character is a true masterpiece of acting: For 7 years we just took him for granted as another member of the crew, but if you watch the first and last episodes back to back, you realise that the character was developing the whole time, becoming more and more human so gradually you didn't even notice it was happening. I've hated Brent Spiner in every other role I've seen him in, but that was just a fantastic performance.
Ice
OH No, ...I was taking you for a serious Sci-fi fan and now this.......almost as bad as my Star Wars oppreciation.....

The film is the film....to me the film is like any film of the novel...."what about .....?????" lol
Can I buy you a drink Ice Pie...we need to enjoy a chat together.....

To me, they're just cowboys and indians with spaceships instead of horses. The idea that you can take a run-of-the-mill Good vs Evil story, set it in the future or outer space

Just got an angry E mail from the Native American Peoples Alliance Party Management (NAPALM) re your comparison of Good Vs Evil and Cowboys and Indians...
(1) they are native American Peoples and will you please remember that
(2) who were they goodies and baddies....those who stole the land (and killed and tortured to do so..) or those who defended their homes?
(3) Will we get Dr. Who repeats on NBC soon?
biggrin :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Stu: feeling like chief wind up merchant tonight!!!!!
Of course its real sci-fi...its real isn't it?
Do androids dream of electric sheep?
Byron...thank you...you too appreciate Connery's sadism...true to the original character..and Brosnan has that too...cold blooded killer (see Tomorrow Never Dies)...oh how I love this character..lol
Stu of the " Fran &..." variety.
Awww..c'mon Byron...bit of a cop out there...give us the details!!!
LOL

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking Star Wars etc, I'm just saying it's a different genre from what I regard as science fiction. Where's the "science" in a light saber? Did they explain how it works? That's the difference.
Ice

Ermmmm...yes they did, the Star Wars universe is actually full of such detail and explanation (just ask my cousin, he will cure your insomnia for you if you suffer with it..lol biggrin )
Fiction in science surely does not have to rely on explaining or proving your ideas/theories etc...ok people like Arthur C Clarke predicted things like the development of the satellite through their fiction writings, but surely any fiction that involves a science, explained or unexplained, is technically science fiction and therefore welcome in the genre. I hate to label things and place them in neat little boxes, bring one, bring all, and lets open up the genre as wide as possible, cos we just might benefit from it!
May the Force be With You

Would you like a Jelly Baby?
I would do Betty, but I would be thinking of Wilma!
LOL LOL LOL LOL
Ok, so what is your favourite James Bond movie and why?
For us it has to be "Tomorrow Never Dies"... We know, We know it's not a Connery one, but we just love the action in it and Jonathan Pryce is a fab villain, plus Fran does like a bit of old Pierce Brosnan, and the babes aint too bad too!!!
BUT
We love ALL the Connery ones too, and don't mind the Roger Moore ones (or Dad as we know him...pm us for details..lol). Timothy Dalton was just never gonna settle to the role whilst he was still playing Shakespeare characters...(Will, did you have a hand in his decision to leave the franchise?)
HOWEVER,
probably most controversial of all we actually liked George Lazenby...or was it just that fab music for OHMSS???????
Tell us your faves....
