Get a MacBook Mortgage for her! innocent

:whistling:
Ah, but it wouldn't be a house without a MacBook...! :giggle:

You could tell her that whilst she also thought you had a happy marriage for the last 30 years the last 7 years of it have included you paying to be a member of a swingers site on your own and actively seeking to play without her ......
Now the result of that admission would be very interesting lol

rolleyes is that really any worse than a secret porn collection...? Just being on the site isn't really a big deal, is it now...?
As has been said many times before on this forum, cheating is doing anything your partner wouldent approve of. Including messaging on here, talking dirty on here etc etc. Its all about respect. If you have to hide it you shouldent be doing it.
Does that mean I'm cheating every time I have a sneaky glass of wine during the week... My wife certainly doesn't approve of that!!
I guess I just don't think it's my place to judge others... As I've said before (in my previous incarnation as LB1) I don't think the concept of cheating is as black and white as many people make out. And, it's none of my business if someone chooses to secretly have a SH account to chat, flirt, post in the forums, or even arrange meets. It's their life and their business. dunno
I'm with Toots. I'm an Apple whore and so is my wife. We've both got a MacBook Pro and an iPhone, and we share an iPad and Apple TV at home... It all works beautifully together. Since I'm into photography, there's just no substitute for a MacBook Pro in my opinion, and if I'm going to use a Mac as my home computer, it just makes sense to have an iPhone and all the other Apple stuff too. (Everyone else just waits to see what Apple will do next and then they copies it!!)
Besides... It makes me wet just walking into an Apple shop... :sticky:

(But I'm not upgrading my 4S... Waste of money! Will wait for the next version before upgrading...)

What I do not respect is blind faith in just how wonderful our policemen are and that they can do no wrong.

I don't think I'd go that far myself. I don't have blind faith in the police. My sister is in the Met, so I have some realistic insights. Of course the police can get it wrong sometimes - nobody is perfect - but, in this case, I happen to agree with how they've chosen to handle the situation.
Sorry... another off topic query...! Do any of you ever venture into the Pool? Just curious, as it would be nice to be able to put faces to the names and know who I'm talking to. Am in the Pool now if anyone wants to paddle over and say hello :-)
I feel I should make some sort of attempt to pull this thread back on topic... well, at least within the vicinity of the topic in any case...!
I enjoyed this article. I do love Boris!

But I do enjoy a good debacle!

No need for the white flag, my lovely! I've been paddling in the CA all day, and shall blame that for my (unintentionally) confrontational query... forgive me?

I have to admit that I've not read the entire thread (time is my enemy lately) but I can't help thinking that one likely cause of all this hoo-ha is that it simply fell into a slow news week. But hey, at least it seems to have removed the focus from Kate's tits! ;)

Paddy - do you happen to know where Android phones are manufactured...?

Probably in the same place :small-print: >>>>>> Read above, it's not an attack on Toot's
Paddy
No, but it did read as an attack on the iPhone... dunno
Interpretation - Doctors differ, patients die - now that's another story lol
I never attack people for their views - isn't that what a Forum is all about?
Paddy
Of course! I was just curious about whether you were suggesting that the Android is somehow better from an ethical perspective, given what you said... that was all. I wasn't suggesting that you were attacking Toots...

We are all going off at tangents here.

Yes, but aren't they fun?! I've always preferred interesting tangents to following the straight and narrow ;-)
(but I do agree with you - hence my lack of comments "on topic" - I don't have much to add to what you've already said in that regard!)

It's an alternative view point. Sometimes you have to look at the 'bigger' picture.

For the record, I do see your point and have conceded that you have a valid point in general. I just happen to agree with the course of action taken by the police in the circumstances.
Also, your alternative viewpoint doesn't necessarily equate to looking at the entire "bigger picture". It is a somewhat narrow view (prefaced, it would seem, on a particular attitude that you have towards the police in general), and I would argue that looking at the situation through your lens only provides a snippet of the bigger picture. Having said that, I'm all for looking at and considering alternative views in order to construct a bigger picture view for myself, and I do find your take on this very interesting.
GnV - I think we broadly agree. I am just more sympathetic to the police than you are, it seems. I don't think there was any need to be more diplomatic in the circumstances. Yes, the officer was somewhat confrontational. Yes, he could have deferred to the GCW, thereby diffusing the situation. Yes, there was no need to stir the pot by publishing the reports. But, as I have already said, I think it is good that an example is being made of Mr Mitchell in the circumstances. For all we know, he may have been rude, aggressive and derogatory to officers on duty on many prior occasions, and someone just decided "enough is enough" and decided to bite back this time.
I'm firmly on the side of the police here. I don't think any criticism is due and I'm pleased to see the GCW getting some comeuppance given his appalling behaviour.
At the risk of sounding thoroughly cynical, I think it's all part of a diplomatic game. International aid is far from a philanthropic venture on the part of our Government. There are complex politics involved and there'll be some political advantage to us. We wouldn't be doing it otherwise...

Aren't you supposed to add water to it?
I only ask because it's something I know you are qualified to comment on.

Now there`s something you are right about !!
Last time I told someone on this forum to take more water with it all hell broke loose.
But as we all know, stuff that can get me banned passes without comment when somebody else says it rolleyes
Well, that's settled then.

Yes - I do like to read posts with correct spelling, grammar and punctuation... nothing like an eloquent post to spark my interest! ;-)
Hence my comment about your way with words (and I explain this partly for Star's benefit ;-) )... whether or not I agree with you, I do enjoy reading what you have to say. Not only can you spell and construct a sentence properly, you paint quite a picture!! Particular highlights from the post I commented on earlier include:

I've now read through the article. I think Mr Mitchell behaved very badly and that the Officer in question handled it appropriately - yes, perhaps he could have just let him through the main gate, but why should he? If the policy is to use the pedestrian gate, then why should the chief whip get some sort of special treatment? I suspect his arrogance probably irritated the Officer - it certainly would have irritated me - so he probably wanted to make a bit of a point and put Mr Mitchell in his place (as it were). They're doing their jobs and Mr Mitchell should be grateful to them for being there - protecting and serving - rather than insulting them and telling them to learn their place. You can be sure that he'd be grateful for the police if there were ever any sort of terrorist attack there... he'd be cowering behind them and expecting them to do their jobs!!
In short, although I do see your point and I concede that this has possibly been whipped up more than it had to be (perhaps with some sort of hidden agenda), it serves him right! And I think it's a good thing that an example is being made of him - MPs should not be allowed to behave this way with impunity. Perhaps he'll learn to behave more politely in future and treat people with common courtesy and respect, rather than behaving like a pompous prat.
