I'd have thought it would be a good idea offering other prizes too seeing how a significant percentage of users probably wouldn't want to give their home address details.
Also makes me wonder what the information will be used for. There's no indication about this or a privacy statement specific to the survey.

I have to say that I experience regular problems with degradation on this site in the chatroom. I know there are 1000s of other people using the site, but every time I'm in a chatroom people comment on the slowness, disappearing emoticons, causing (what appears to be) heavy loads on the hard disk for no apparent reason.
This has been raised so many times, isn't it possible that there IS an issue at the server end? I don't get the problems all the time, but I get them often enough for it to be a pain in the proverbial.
Yes I have the latest version of flash loaded, yes I've tried IE and Firefox, yes I have AV, spyware and firewall software and have tried running it with one or all combinations disabled, no I don't have a network, yes I've tried closing down everything apart from SH chat, yes I have more than enough memory and yes my PC is defragged regularly.
I use a number of other chatrooms (not related to swinging) that are written with a variety of software, some of it flash. They offer similar (and in some cases more) facilities than on here. A simple side-by-side test of this site and comparable others show this to be lacking in its responsiveness.
I find it a little hard to believe that so many people complaining about the slowness of the chatroom on here are all simply misguided and have their PCs setup wrong.
I'm assuming Op accounts are configured like Extra accounts to allow for multiple room access. Might this also affect whether or not you are seeing the problems standard users experience?

This has been raised a number of times before....we already have a diagram that lists all postcodes used on here together with a map for where they are. You can view by location (i.e. "what postcodes are near me?") or by alphabetical listing.

We've asked about this before (share your frustrations) and apparently the rumour is that to increase the frequency on the servers to check if someone's fell off would take up too much processing power.
My 2 penneth: if you're disconnected and try to reconnect, the server should be set simply to log you out of whatever session it thinks you have, thereby letting you back in immediately......not rocket science, real annoyance, should have been fixed ages ago.

One other I've thought about (although I presume this comes built into Extras) is the ability to be in more than one room at once. I'd be happy with just access to two rooms as a non-Extra user coz it's a bit annoying only being able to see who's in a room by joining it, and sometimes the people I want to chat with are spread across more than one room.
Also, how about moving the cam windows and room list so it's down the left hand side rather than across the top? The advantage to this is that you could move your window partially off the screen if you don't want to use those features (tho I've suggested the option of being able to toggle these on and off as the preferred option).

Eww - I'm confused now. When I select any of the buttons (B, I, U, Quote, Code etc etc) they appear with the square brackets which I assumed was some internal translation for the HTML equivalents. If I'm manually entering HTML I'd use the <> brackets instead.

On the occasions I'm in a room that's about to be closed I usually opt to stay on the same chat server and go back to the default room (be it Pool, Jacuzzi or Corner Shop). The quickest way I've found of doing that is to select the same server you're already on from the drop-down "take me to" list.

Not sure about other browsers, but in Internet Explorer there are two ways of doing this already:
The first (which I think should also apply to other browsers) is to right-click to get the Flash popup menu, then select Zoom In
The second (Internet Explorer 7 only) is to click on the magnifying glass button in the bottom right of the window. This allows you to increase the text and images in any webpage, not just the chatroom
On both of these you'll need space on your screen to view the larger text.

My wishlist (most of which has already been listed before):
An ignore button - I take onboard PoloLady's comments but if nuisance individuals are put on ignore by a number of people they should eventually get the message. If this is built into the next version, I'd also want a visual indicator of who I have on ignore so I have the option of taking the ignore off again
A popup that appears when you click or hover over a user's name that shows basic details about them (some suggestions: location/distance, pics available , link to ads)
A toggle button to be able to shrink the top boxes where the cams and room list boxes are to maximise screen space
A visual indicator of who opened a user-defined room. I think this is particularly important so people know who to speak to about problems from other users, and to see whether the one with the control is present. Ideally I'd like the information also displayed in the room title e.g. SH Chatters Room
Emoticon drop-down list
And of course, much better reliability: ensuring that if a server is down, you can't try to access it; removal of the 5 minute delay (which is so simple to fix I'm amazed it is still here); sorting out the screen refresh problems so that emoticons don't keep disappearing or showing in the wrong places in the chat

I think some valid points have been made throughout this thread....one minor point I'd like to raise is that sometimes the AUP is applied a little inconsistently.
Jon quite rightly pointed out that it states you can have someone else on cam as long as they consent to the rules, and yet in a previous thread a chatroom op questioned that fact that a member had been on cam with another user because she wasn't a paid member and therefore didn't have her own independent access to the chatroom. The AUP doesn't have any revision information so I have no idea whether it's been changed since that thread. I've not posted the threadlink here because it adds little value, but can provide it in a PM if a Mod or Op wants to know more.
This is not a dig at anyone in particular - I've raised it simply to flag that sometimes mixed messages can get communicated to members.
We all have off days and I can imagine the frustration for a Mod or Op having to repeat something for the umpteenth time when the information is already available on the site. Inexperienced members sometimes need a little helping hand to understand where they are going wrong.
