My advice would be to smile alot and look like a happy, fun person.
We have made some great friends just by striking up conversation whilst having a coffee for instance. Some have become very good vanilla friends and some have become more.............
A positive attitude, looking friendly and direct eye contact are all good pointers-even if the butterflies in your tummy are battering to escape!
Mind over matter.
Good luck
Absolutely loved the fireworks on New Year!
We went to a spot in Bristol and gazed out over the city as midnight struck. What a beautiful sight.......lots of fireworks erupting at the same time............it was fantastic
Oh my goodness this is something very close to my heart. I was actually having a bit of a bitch about basic manners earlier.
I am amazed, when you eat out, how many people lack basic table manners. Eat off their knives, chew with their mouth open, ram huge amounts of food into their mouths etc. Ok call me old fashioned..........I was always taught bring your food to your mouth, not your mouth to the food............Oh I could go on all day.............but I wont.
Suffice it to say that when I meet someone for fun, its sometimes something to do with manners that may put me off taking things further. Yes I know Im picky, but thats just me. Oh those Nuns at my catholic school have so much to answer for.........lol
I often mix pleasure with work........infact I could honestly say I do so at least once a day...........
hee hee but then, I do work from home...............added bonus!!
We have a friend who loves freecycle.......... She rang us with an urgent request for the use of a strong man (Mr M) and a large vehicle to pick up some fantastic top soil....................wonderful I said, lets share (the topsoil not Mr M in this case!).......
Well lets just say the very heavy orange clay wasnt suitable for helping my garden blossom lol (could have recreated a scene from 'Ghost' with her 'topsoil'.............but it did help in another friends garden to fill in some huge holes. See one mans waste is another mans treasure.....
A very Happy New Year to you xxx
hi Furby
Life doesnt always work out the way we may want it to and sometimes you may feel that you are getting the thin end of the wedge.
You are special. You are No.1 in your life and if anyone you have met so far hasnt treated you as such, then they are not the person for you.
May the year of 2008 bring you some fun, happiness and peace.
Best Wishes xxx
Mine is the breadmaking machine...............mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........delicious hot buttered bread with a cup of something yummy...............great having the smell of baking bread when you have friends coming round
Hi Calista and Morbius
Well what can I say............thats just fantastic news!
As someone who has been in your shoes in the past, I send you my sincerest hugs, kisses and love for a wonderful Christmas.
Love and kisses xxx
Christmas for us is about going and choosing our Christmas Tree, sending greetings to all our friends, snuggling up and watching 'Its a wonderful life' on DVD.............having lost a child to a wicked illness, its also about living life to the full, to have compassion and humanity and remembering how lucky we are to have what we have - each other....
Can always trust you lot to raise a laugh...............ok calmed down now lol
I have visions of dragons with man-flu now.............a very honest dragon of course!!
It never ceases to amaze me what responses you get from people.
Without going into too much detail, we have just had a message from someone currently advertising in two categories saying they have 'caught something nasty' but when it clears up do you want to play and here is my msn address meanwhile................
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Think im gonna be sick
I have heard of planning ahead, but that is ridiculous!
Who knows what any of us are going to be doing sex wise today, tomorrow or next week let alone in the future.
You got a kink for oldie sex then?
Lots of stuffing......................
I havent got it up yet either............
the tree, the tree...........
This made me smile as someone, at a recent social, said they new me from somewhere. I pointed out that i did not recognise them at all.
I know we had never messaged them nor met them before and they concluded that they must have seen our profile pics.
I smiled as we dont actually have any profile pics but this in fact confirmed a trust issue that I had with another couple of their acquaintance who it seems must have shared our pics with them. Yes I know that is an assumption, but womens intuition is a wonderful thing......and later to have proven correct lol.
