Forum

Just for the record - this thread was a 'just for fun' post& it was just those little everyday things that really irk us....
Nothing negative, in fact i have laughed a lot reading peoples replies... lol
Jaine
just in after another 10 hour shift dealing with plebs...(well most of them). mad
Scissor Sisters are very refreshing...loads of good stuff but at the moment...Interpol, Mars Volta, Keane, Franz Ferdinand, etc etc
Going to see Paperchase this week at Colchester...
Me, troublemaker...with my reputation !!!
Other things that annoy me is
the male that rang 999 last night very very drunk who was lost somewhere & wanted us to go & pick him up & take him home...(did u spot the error)..when I explained to him if he was lost how did we know where he was he promptly told me to
" Go & sell your crack you fu***** whore**
Charming..
No I shall get involved actually....
1. Radiohead
2. The Pixies
3. David Bowie
4. REM
5. Joy Division
loads more but think we covered this in an earlier thread I started....
Jesus, I go to work for a few hours & my 'just for fun' thread becomes a political discussion...
Oh well I see I have to go to the thread started by my 'learned friend' ref best band ... mad
Well said Alex I second all that...
just copying coz I cant think of anything better than she said.
Jaine

Manalive agreed! Also you can tell when an old record is taken out of the archives for a day - it's then played to death on every BBS music channel for a week or so.
Moist - hugs!!!!!!!! I meant those stupidly oversized speakers which just pump out boom-boom-boom. That racket combined with a noisy exhaust is horrendous when heard on a peaceful summers day in the country! No offence Jaine (really, honestly, hugs) but what is the actual point of a noisy exhaust (apart from noise pollution)? Just curiousity on my part here.
Can you tell that this is one of my pet hates?? lol
Anyway - big hugs Jaine.

Hey honey, no offence taken..was just being honest. Anyway to answer your questions...
the exhust the manufacturer puts on in the factory is like a lot of other things you buy - ok but not the best - i.e. scart leads that come with dvd's etc they are crap & should be thrown away with the box...car parts are the same, a cheap good effort but not always the best for performance, sound mpg etc..
hence I have changed suspension set up, wheels, exhaust & soon air filter. Just makes the car more responsive, handle better & a power increase.
I must quickly say though that some boys ( wearing burberry baseball caps in a nova GTE) will put on any old pipe to make it as loud as possible then get a stereo that they can hear over the racket....

4. Boy racers who THINK they are the dogs b****cks because the have a car with a boot 'ruiner', blacked out windows, faulty exhaust (sounds faulty to me anyway) and blasting an incomprehensible racket from the speakers which take up 95% of the interior of the car
Whoops..I have tinted windows, loud exhaust & a loud stereo & go on cruises at Southend etc...
Does that make me a girl racer at 36 yrs old??
Spose it does...sorry Alex wink

How amusing that my post turned right around & bit me in the ass..... lol
Jaine
I apologise to anyone concerned for my rant...that will be the last of it in the forum as not really the right place, but it is a subject very close to my heart so had to fight my corner however any further challlenges shall be via PM.

Please tell me you are kidding!!!!
Radiohead died back in 1997, they have been trying to hard to do things innovative ever since as this is the tagline that everyone gave them............. they havnt had anything decent out since karma police!!!!
Cant believe they actually have any fans left!!!!
Your in a minority!!!! biggrin
I know the darkness arnt exactly original but they have good music even if it is rehashed and stolen completely from when rock music was good, but at least the little peeps are getting some rock music instead of growing up thinking pop idol contestants are the height of modern music! surprised

No actually I shall continue here where it started
Since 1997 they have won
Best band in the world 2001/2002/2003 for Q mag over the likes of Chillis. Foos, Coldplay & Blur - not bad for someone who has not done anything decent
Also 2 sold out nights at Earls Court last year
5 nominations at NME awards of which 2 were won
Best band in the world 2003 - Rolling Stone mag
Grammys for Amnesiac & Hail to the Thief
Minority - I think not
Jaine
Roadknight.....Hold on I am coming to calm you down...bend over & stay very still, you may feel a little prick...
LMFAO @ myself lol
** and the fact they beat Radiohead to best british band....they deserve to die just for that fact alone without inflicting pain on my ears & eyes..by god he is one ugly mutha...**
I thought you said decent band......then you mentioned Darkness...Oh dear. Listen I run a help group every Wednesday evening between 7-9 where you can talk freely amongst friends about your problems....we will not mock or punish you, please come along, be amongst others like yourself who understand...... lol
Jaine

Jaine (not in the best of moods today in case you have not gathered) !!
Well I just wanna say I wish you all the best TS & I will miss your posts...Drop in now & again to let us knw how your doing...Think you have the right attitude as I am using this site to fill some sort of void in my life & I have lots of other things I should be doing with my time....But it is kinda addictive & I have made such goodmates on here.

Superb people on here ....yuo just all keep on surprising me...another thing though please?? mainly to the guys..
Can u explain to me why 'some' of you only are interested in us when we act hard to get...you pursue us like demons but as soon as we turn around & show interest your tails go between your legs & you head off in the opposite direction quicker than my lurchers..I thought I had met a promising bloke (on SH) but was a bit unsure & he could not do enough to get my attention..phone calls, texts, e mails the lot..I though "aww bless time to give the guy a break" & I actually quite liked him but as soon as I told him he backed off at 100mph...I give up, I really do. At my age I dont really expect to play games like this!! evil
a single person in thier thirties who is very happy with thier life but gets fed up with people thinking there is something wrong with you because you have not settled down & have a nice semi/three kids & holidays in Spain every yesr...People just assume you are lonely & then start to try to arrange dinner parties/blind dates ....This is my choice...I have had the chance to settle & did not & am bloody glad I did not now. I have nothing against the "norm" but there is sometimes such pressure to be a couple...
I look around at times, see a few of my friends who have married early, have children & are trapped & miserable & they say " I envy your freedom"...
Although..I am not saying I want to stay single and be an old spinster but I will not settle for 2nd best & for the sake of it. !! Just not met him yet but hopefully one day..
Sorry, just a rant on a friday morning...( i got my reasons)...

Well save all the confusion of being in one boat but not the other etc etc I thought I would just use my whirlybird....& I can also save the drowning souls..esp if they are young handsome men with thier shirts clinging to them while they are dripping wet & I will have to warm them up & towel then down.......erm...anyway
Gotta back all that Sappho said as I have only been on here two weeks & have been made to feel like one of the regulars already & thoroughly enjoy all my time spent on here with these wonderful people who a couple of them I truly regard as friends now.
Jaine biggrin
Blimy, you just bought back some old names....
I saw Iron Maiden (when they were good)
AC/DC
Whitesnake
and a band i wanted to se coz the lead singers voice was awesome was Kingdom Come
Ooooh how old am I !!! sad
Mr Writer,
Here, jump on the rope ladder & join me in my helicopter...we can beat them all & find the best island...
Jaine xxxx wink
I drive home ....usually far too fast but have to be careful because a lot of my work collegues use same route !!
Then when I get in I get the lurchers out for a nice long run over the fields, they get in exhausted leaving me to run a hot bath, light some candles, get some Jeff Buckley on the Arcam & settle in the bath for a long hot soak....then dinner which is usually toast or cereal & settle down for a nites telly/poota viewing. Heaven is living on your own sometimes... confused
