This year:
1) we've seen our son go up to comprehensive...now the hard work begins!
2) watched our 4yo daughter develop into even more of a little madam
3) the missus has really pushed on with her job and is getting the recognition she deserves for it
4) i've finally got my promotion to area manager that i've been after for 3 years
5) been on two holidays (1 to rhodes with the kids and 1 to amsterdam without the kids biggrin)
6) met some wicked people off here at socials & munches etc and made some good friends
Now the not so good:
1) had to standby and watch as our sons life was being made a misery by a gang of bullies and got ever more pissed off at not being able to go outside and knock fuck out of the lot of em for him
2) decided to move home again after spending a fortune on the missus dream kitchen confused
3) met some not so good people off here
4) found it ever more difficult to actually meet people off here lol
2007 hasnt been too bad, better than recent years to be fair....onwards and upwards smile
I think its trying to imply that if you buy knock off DVD's (rather than buying a dvd writer and downloading them yourself) then your girlfriend will leave you and people will laugh at you and sing songs at you.
Load of bollox if you ask me.
Maybe there is a subliminal message in the ad from Pioneer telling people to go and buy its latest DVD writer and its a clever marketing ploy?? rolleyes

oi........it says "wish" in the thread title doesnt it? lol
There is a time and a place for men to wear suits etc when going out, and that is to the theatre or a dinner dance type thing....not when going out on the lash or to a swinging social/munch.
Whenever i see someone dressed in a suit round the town my first thought is "poncy tosser" as it reminds me of all the knobs who used to frequent the Mall in stockton in the early 90's thinking they're something special, drinking their baby bottles of moet.
I always wear jeans and a shirt, not your tesco's own brand though, they have to be designer ones as the cut and material used are so much better and i can confidently say i never look scruffy when i'm out.

And dont forget to shake off the rozzers before you turn up
Our tree and a few other lights (marya - ya miserable cow :P) went up yesterday but only coz the missus made me do it. All will be down, first thing on 1st Jan.
For me, i'd wait for a week or two but the missus wants them up for the kids....at least thats what she tells me!
I love christmas to bits, especially having 2 kids, but its all getting a bit too commercialsed for me and its starting to piss me off.
The same one as last time? confused
That bloke was a penis of the highest order and ought to be hung, drawn & quartered before he gets behind a set of decks again
This is possibly one of the most awkward and horrible moments of my life and happened at the end of August.
Me, MrsC and our bin lids had gone on holiday to Rhodes and taken the mother outlaw with us, anyway one night the kids were in bed early as they were knackered so the mother outlaw agreed to babysit while me and the missus went out.
A few hours and plenty of tequila sunrise's later and we're feeling pretty amorous so head off to the beach for a bit wink Finish up on the beach and head back to our room via the bar again, go up to the room, finish said drinks and say we're off to bed as does the mother outlaw.
MrsC goes in bathroom first, when she opens the door and im stood there she drags me in, locks the door and we're at it again only not as quiet as i thought we were confused
So we finish what we're doing and i open the door and walk out to the sight of the mother outlaw leaning against the wall singing/saying "I know what you're doing" and "i thought you were gonna be in there all night"
I swear i wanted to die right there and then! From one of the nicest moments in my life to one of the most truly awful in 5 short words
You handled it an awful lot better than i would've it has to be said!
I would've probably nutted the guy into the middle of 2009 and then stamped on him just for good measures.
I'm not homophobic by any stretch of the imagination, i have some good friends who are gay/bi but they're good as long as they dont try to touch me up or anything.
Fair play MrP, i wouldve blown my stack big time confused
I truly cant believe there has been 55 posts and not one mention of the steaming pile of shite that is "O brother where art thou?" confused
Possibly the biggest waste of blank dvd's/life ever known to man

hmmmmmmm....tried the ownership thing last night but it didnt seem to work.
The disk is definately intact as i can see all the files in there when looking through the 'files & settings transfer wizard', it just wont let me copy the files from one partition to the other.
At least i know they're all still there, i'll have another crack at the ownership thing later and see how i get on. Cheers sussex smile

Sounds like one of two things might have happened...
1) the processor got damaged when the fan was jammed (it doesnt take long for these modern processors to melt without the correct cooling)
2) the harddrive could have been damaged when our daughter kicked it (they dont react well to impacts)
I would suggest you try first booting into safe mode if you havent already (hold down f8 after the post check). If that fails to work, see if you can get someone else to let you try and hook the hdd up to their computer as a secondary drive. You might find you are able to access it. Failing that - there are people who can access damaged drives, but they arent cheap.
Hope some of this helps...

Ta mate, but its deffo not hardware related. As i said originally i've got the machine working but using my old 20gb drive for windows. I can still see the 250gb main drive and all its partitions and files....except for the files i need to get at!

Hey, I'm wondering if the kick has damaged the surface of the hard-drive disc surface, so you're loosing the directory for that part of the drive. dunno

Dont think so as i've ran chkdsk on it and its not throwing up any errors at all.
Ta for the link tho, i'll give it a crack smile

Hi all....hope someone can help!!
Yesterday, my daughter was playing on my machine when she paddy'd and kicked it, after a few minutes it rebooted itself into windows and carried on running....then rebooted again. I shut it down and left it til she went to bed then tried booting it up again, each time it got just after POST then rebooted, i did this a few times before checking the BIOS where i noticed the chip temp was at 120 degrees  as the fan was not spinning. When she booted it she dislodged the cable loom and it jammed in the fan!!
Anyway, i got a new fan today, installed it and went to boot up, it got past the XP splashscreen then locked up with my mouse cursor in the middle of a black screen but with no power to the mouse or keyboard. I messed around with the BIOS and reset the CMOS and tried safemode but nothing worked sad
After a while messing i reformated a small 20gb drive that i use to share files between the 3 machines we have in our house and installed XP onto that hoping to get onto my C drive and rescue all my personal files (photos, work stuff etc) but i cant do it. I can see all 3 partitions on the drive (its a 250gb SATA) and i can access them all except for 'my documents' on the old windows drive, it says it is inaccessable when i try. Also, the folder is listed as empty when it shoud have about 20gb of stuff on it.
My question is this:
How can i access this folder to rescue whats on there? And if i cant, if i run setup on that partition but choose to leave the partition intact (do not format it etc) will my docs still be there after setup?
Please help anyone!!!
Cheers
