I've taken this thread and Sgt Bilko's to heart. Both have struck a chord with me and caused me to reassess how I feel about the forum and the people in it, and the ramblings below are the result, incoherent though they may be...
A few months ago I started a thread about the friends I had made on the site and what it meant to me, and those thoughts and feelings still hold true further down the line. In fact, those feelings are stronger than they were. Yes, they took a knock at the beginning of March when Mr Collymore hit the headlines and the gates of Swinging Heaven crashed open under the deluge of the interested, the curious and the sensationalists; but when all is said and done, the spirit of the Cafe in particular remains and so does my joy and delight in the Cafe and its members.
I have had the pleasure of meeting several of the moderators and sys ops - and not just in the Biblical sense - and I now count them as personal friends because they are the nicest people anyone could wish to meet, in or out of bed. They are real people with thoughts and interests outside the fora; they put such hard work into making the site what it is, and for little reward other than the adulation of their appreciators of which I am proudly one.
The loss of any of the current moderators would inflict damage on the humour, the variety, the fairness and the credibility of Swinging Heaven.
Yes, the Cafe has been changing. It changes with every newbie who posts and becomes a regular, but this is because, like the people who post, the forum is organic, not static. It is growing all the time, and in that growth it is also evolving. The moderators have to keep on top of that to ensure that the site's development does not become an uncontrolled rampage and so all members can contribute in fairness and responsibility.

A belated welcome to SH from me, Bush Tucker Man!
Have fun in the forum... oh I believe you already are!

Hello Tallguy and welcome to SH!
I see you have met my esteemed other half and several of our wonderful regulars. Don't worry, they are all harmless; just getting a little over-excited with the thought of translatlantic swinging - purely in the interests of cementing international alliances and furthering Anglo-American relations of course.
Have fun in the forum!

Hello all,
Don't want to sound smug or self satisfied but I am still not smoking! Impressed? I'm bloody amazed, but that is down to two people in particular - my darling brat and my own Will.
In a sense it is getting easier, I go for longer periods of time without thinking about it; and in another sense it gets harder when the craving takes me unawares. I'll admit it, I would love a cigarette right now, but I have got this far already.
All the very best fem_4_taboo - you can do this! A lot of us are in the same boat - Kit and Kat, BlueEyes, Byron, Bassdude - and we're right there with you. PM if we can help at all.

The verb fuck has a disputed origin so the choice is between Anglo Saxon fuickand Old German ficken, both meaning to strike or to copulate.
I'll admit I've never heard of it as an acronym before, though!
Fascinating!

So that's two votes so far for 'Have a break - Have KitKat' - I can deal with that!

'Dip me in chocolate and feed me to Lesbians' is not just wishful thinking on my part but the slogan emblazoned on my t-shirt at the Midlands Munch. Several of the ladies expressed a preference for a similar shirt for the next munch, so this thread is to request suggestions from the members.
Suggestions so far have included the following:
This t-shirt would look great on your bedroom floor
Let me swing you to heaven
Come swing with me
Love me, love my Rabbit
Any more ideas out there?

Yes please! The provisional date is in the diary!

Hello Blufin69 and welcome back to SH!
Did you get lost on your travels on the internet highway? Glad to see you made it back into the fold.

My eleven year old is sat at my feet in the study. She's taping tracks to play in the car, and in typical girlie fashion she has a neatly written list which is ticked off as each track is recorded on to the audio tape.
"Mum, what's an orgasm?" Parent falls off chair
"Do you mean orgasm or organism?" I ask - let's get our definitions right here, after all.
"Orgasm," she confirms.
Oh shit. Deep breath, how do I put this in a neat little nutshell? "It's the feeling you get during sexual intercourse."
"Oh." There is a singular lack of titillation, amusement or query in my young daughter's reaction here.
Parents awaits next question. Next question doesn't come. Parent cannot contain self further... "So where did you get the word 'orgasm' from?" Please say Science lessons, bugger she can't - they're doing plant repro.
"Kerr-rang!"
My turn. "Oh."
I tried the parental homily about not needing to grow up too fast, plenty of time for finding out all sorts of things, blah, blah. My daughter gazes at me, with eyes as old as time and innocent as a blue sky.
"Don't worry, Mum. I'll always be your baby, you know, even if I am growing up."
Hello Kinky Lizard and welcome to SH!
Now you do seem the shy, retriring type, but please don't worry. The ladies only bite on request, the Sarge frisks very gently, and the chaps are just a bunch of pussycats (or Harvey lookalikes depending on the chap) - just stroke their fur the right way.
Have fun in the forum!

Okay, big confession time. I did have a drag on a cigarette - twice. But not a whole one, much though the temptation was there. Otherwise, I was quite good-ish!
But if wishes were horse, beggars would ride - and I'd have had a pack of twenty. Back to Allen Carr.

Delta,
Hello and welcome to SH! Have fun in the forum!
Harry,
I've read your ad and I loved it. It was honest, humorous and refreshing. I also know what you look like anyway! I'm so looking forward to meeting up at the Midlands Munch.

Hi Jodie and welcome to SH!
You don't happen to work for a certain women's magazine do you, aimed at the 18-25 age range?
Forgive my scepticism, but your opening post is asking a great deal of people who do not know you from Eve. It is more normal, not least polite, to introduce yourself and let us get to know you before asking for indepth experiences.
If I am wrong, then I wholeheartedly apologise, but I am sure you will understand reticence, if not suspicion, on the part of regulars here after recent media events.
Enjoy your swinging party, and your time in the forum.
