I always thought a tickling stick was a device to dust bookcases...
No I admit to not having used a newspaper in that way. Usually I am content with people's fingertips but stay awayfrom my nostrils! LOL
I am not working at the moment as I have a baby daughter to care for so no issues with leaving work. But I was told once that Manchester was a good place to find work (one agency was trying to find good staff to send over as they had a surplus of demand and a shortage of supply up there).
I can't buy a house, not even a garage. I would be renting.
Students everywhere? Hmm must keep some distance for the sake of my ears (I hear students play music loud) and my chastity (fast approaching 40 which is the age most young men lust after - it's proven!) LOL
Thanks for all the info everyone. You are brilliant!
Does anyone know Macclesfield? I am trying hard to remember if it is a leafy village at some altitude with lovely stone houses but a very busy and noisy main street.
Also I saw on the map a place called Holmfirth and the name rings a bell. Was it on any television programme?
I am going back home for Christmas. It's been 2 years since my last holiday. Mom reports it's raining cats and dogs there, lots of flooding and cold winds. Might have to get the fireplace going and drink tea with brandy to keep warm whilst watching the winter swimmers club cut their new year's pitta on the beach on TV. Then there is also the Christmas and New Year's concerts from Vienna to look forward to. And cream pastries. I am going to walk into a shop and get a selection of cream pastries: almond, chocolate, fruit, truffle... and then hide in a corner and eat them all by myself! :P
Manchester is beginning to sound exciting, bar the rain. Does it even rain in summer?
I must make plans for a reconnaissance trip early in the new year. Might meet some of you if you are up for it. No double entendre intended ;)
apart from being the home of Man U, what other attractions does it hold as a place to live in? Can someone advise which are the desirable areas and which are the areas to avoid? How easy is life in Manchester in terms of facilities, accessibility, jobs, social happenings, shopping etc?
I am considering moving out of London and would appreciate any info, either in public or in PM.
Thank you.
Makes a fist, obviously!
Then begins twisting his/her fist right and left, slowly slowly, getting all those sensitive nerves titillated as the knuckles go past them
:smile2:
Buy a car with seat memory! They have a button you depress once you have found your optimum driving position and it memorises height of seat, distance and tilt. You can put his and hers preferences and then it is easy-peasy to just press the button and let the seat do the rest. Haven't tried one myself (way out of my budget) but this is how I understood from car sellers that it works.
Not sure what that is exactly but I am warning you with feeding the baby every 2 hours, I don't have much chance to do things!
Glad to hear it but very puzzled that it stung. Did you put sugar in it? Or lemon? LOL Or maybe you already had a cream on your face and it reacted? I hope you enjoy the wedding.
