The papers and radio stations are in full praise mode at the moment, but you can be sure that in a few short weeks we'll be seeing the other side of that coin and all the rumour, the sleaze and the allegations will be what sells the papers ... we all know this.
It's obviously sad for the family and friends, but I don't get all the weeping and wailing from the great unwashed cool
Well, didn't see that one coming ...
Surprise at the news but probably none too surprising given what he did to his body ...
I misheard it on the radio earlier on ... though they said Mia Farrow had died and was thinking, 'when was she ever a Charlie's angel?' ...
She'd been battling cancer for some time but 62 is young

I'd say that Britain is the cheapest country in Europe to shop - by a long way.

But still our prices soar. Remind me again why we joined the EU??
It's not just food either...it's Fuel, Energy, Vehicles, Services, Taxes, you name it and we have seen horrendous increases in the last decade.
I think that's the 'rip off Britain' thing ... free market, promote competition = lower prices for the comsumer ... all very nice except that Britain is pretty much the only one playing by those rules ... there's a word for that, 'stupid' ...
Certaily is going up ... and petrol's about hit the £1 a litre mark again ...
Well, last Halloween, I went to a do as the Joker ... so it'd be an excuse to put the nurses outfit and blonde wig on again lol   ... problem is the face took over an hour to put on!
Can't remember, half a year maybe, I keep coming and going from this site as the mood takes me, my other interest is fetish so I tend to go back and forth on that as the interest takes me ... changed userid once but can't remember what id I used to use ... wink
Big mistake driving to work today, getting there was fine but coming back took over 2 hrs ... luckily, its a wfh day tomorrow.
I've always been interested in such things but I think I'm becoming more sceptical as I go along - I've more faith in the existence of extraterrestrial life than in ghosts/spirits. I certainly don't believe any of the nonsense that goes on in those 'Most Haunted' type shows ...
Yes, thanks, I'll be doing that. Don't get down to THI often enough unfortunately though have been a member from almost the very beginning.
I've got two facebook accts both in my real name, one is for family mainly and the other ... isn't wink ... but I don't put any work people on either and have my privacy settings locked down.
Need to drop the club an email but should be at THI this weekend, can get quite busy there so hope I find you all ... if anyone likes massages biggrin
Is 'British' a reference to racial background - as most respondees here seem to view it, or someone who was born in Britain and is therefore 'British'? I would argue the latter.

Definitely go digital, all new cameras coming out these days are digital, even the pro-level medium format cameras (Mamiya etc) are digital these days.
Most popular makes for SLRs are Nikon and Canon (I use a Canon 40D) though Sony, Samsung etc also make them. Nikon's tend to be more expensive and once you've made up your mind on which make to go for, bear in mind, lens are for the most part not compatible (ie. Nikon won't fit Canon and vice versa) though companies like Sigma make comparable lens.
My suggestion is check out places like eBay as you can pick up bargains on second hand kit, especially lens which cost £100s new but you can easily enough get them for under £100.
A good magazine for learning techniques is Digital Answers, they also cover how to use photoshop etc.
Don't know any teachers personally so can't say for sure whether they're overpaid, underworked with mega long holidays ... but I suspect that it's nothing like as cosy as people think it is ...
A weekly travelcard would cost me about £36, but I work from home twice a week, price of a daily card would be £10 but if I end up going into town on the weekend, an off-peak card costs another £6 making it debatable as to whether I should just get a weekly card anyway ... rolleyes

Oh I would love you to be one of my staff................not.

Thats so cheeky but thank you kindly, I'm not looking just at the mo' and doubt you pay enough cool
Never make assumptions that have no standing.
It was a cheeky comment and no I would not employ you.....not with that attitude to employers....but thanks for asking. wink
I didn't ask
Fact of the matter is, I don't take the piss quite that much and haven't had a sick day yet this year (I'm waiting for a special occassion) but I don't believe in blind loyalty to employers either. I've worked and work for a major company and they all have their positives and are all very good at telling everyone how the success of the company is down to the professionalism of the staff etc etc ... but when a downturn happens and when they want/need to cut costs - staff headcount is always one of the first things they look at and outsourcing is always under review. It makes no difference whether or not you've been there for decades, or have zero sick days, work all weekends - you're just a cost. Anyone who thinks otherwise, is a little misguided and we only have to look at how many jobs have gone in the last few months to see that in action. You can argue the global financial crisis if you like, but companies have been making people redundant even in successful years. I've never worked for small companies (except part time jobs in student days) so maybe they operate differently, but I wouldn't count on it.
(That jumping text box thing is SO annoying!)

If an employee calls in sick (other than being on their death bed) make them work from home in order to justify paying them sick pay.

Bollox to that! Employees get screwed enough by employers as it is, throwing the occassional sickie is just redressing the balance far as I'm concerned wink
No idea what that series is about ... thought it was dinosaurs coming through these anomaly things but now they've got a load of alien big brains things popping up all over the place ... rolleyes

The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme) from Star Wars...
That'd scare the living you know what out of folk! ;-)

You beat me to it wink
... and more appropriate than ever now that I've got the 'correct' username biggrin
They're not very local to you unfortunately but House Of Harlot, Fairy Gothmother in London are well respected and do bespoke work if thats what is needed. Also, a friend of mine, probably same height as you, swears by Lux Tenebre and has had several outfits and corsets made by them ...
Star Trek for sure. Everyone I know who has seen it said they really enjoyed it, even the critics have given it positive reviews (highly unusual for those miserable f'kers).
Angel & Demons, I haven't even seen the first one yet, but seems to be opposite case here, critics almost universally report that it's crap (more like what we expect from those miserable f'kers wink ) and the few people I know who have seen it have at best said it was 'ok' but mostly that its rubbish.

The expense guidlines are so clear and straight forward but these greedy parasites twisted the interpretation of it inorder to deep their fithy fingers in the gravy train...whats the point of paying back if they believe they were right, this is a total insult to voters i think the june local and European election should be suspended until we have new candidates....but if you think BNP will do better you need to wake up!

Agreed.
Totally agreed.
Not sure about the choice of topics myself, just seem like general questions about sex and nothing really to do with what the site is about ... whats the point of it exacly?
Hope everyone had a good time, my apologies for not being able to make it along this time.
I thought it a bit sad that Ming Campbell got jeered the way he did, he paid back what he should not have claimed but I can accept that as a misjudgment on his part. I do believe he is one of the few honourable politicians we have. His error is nothing when we look at people like Blears, Smith, Mandelson who clearly can't claim to have simply made a bad judgement as they were clearly defrauding the tax payer.
It's ridiculous that such a system even stayed secret for this long and what the McD executive said is right, companies all over the country have expenses systems that restrict what you can claim to what is necessarily expense incurred in the course of business ... there's no reason why such a system should not be in used in the Commons. Of course they have expenses most people would not - eg. hire of an office, staff to run it - and any new system would have to cater for that and STOP the scam of hiring family members for doing fuck all!
