We need a remake of Blake's 7. And shame on ANYONE who has never heard of this top-class science-fiction drama.
The Crossroads of the Sci-Fi genre complete with wobbly scenery and random actor replacements for the same characters.

blake 7 has the 2nd best theme tune ever... 2nd only to space 1999....
what should they bring back.... can i bring back a comedy...
can we have a cheers reunion????

Now, being a child of the 80s, I loved Fame (the TV series) and was totally into the whole leg-warmers, performing arts school vibe. I sooooo wanted to be Coco! And, needless to say, my first love was Leroy. *swoons still*
They've remade the film (which wasn't as good as the TV series anyway) and it was just released. I will not be going to see it... I know I would be disappointed.
This leads me to my point: what classic films or TV shows do you think should be remade and what should remain sacrosanct?
I think a remake of the A Team could be fun cool

if you have never seen them nola.... Justin Lee collins did some one off tv specials called "Bring back....."
Bring back fame...... and bring back the A team were the two that made me laugh and cry the most...
you should be able to see them on you tube....
okay..... did it again.. hopefully this is better!! lol

OOOOOOHHHHHHHH I Hate the glade one
How frickin silly
"I want to do a poo at Pauls" I mean for goodness sakes if he was busting for a dump the last thing he would do is put on a ruck sack and march around his mates house for a crap rolleyes
Every time I see it I turn over!

can you imagine all the therapy that kid is going to need in years to come???? hope the money was worth it...
haven't wanted to punch a kid so much since "Declan Swann"...
It is an interesting topic.... for example the local club I go to charges different prices for different nights...
If I wanted to go on a greedy girls night... the couples and single guys get for cheaper, than if i or a couple go on a mixed night....
now i suppose that encourages guys to go on greedy girl night, but I am not really a greedy guy person, so i pay more to feel more comfortable
do i feel like sometimes i am subsidising others to go... sure.... but it is like a double edged sword... if no couples/ girls go.. then no single guys would.... on greedy girl nights its the opposite....
I suppose it is swings and roundabouts....
the biggest bugbare for me is that most clubs make people pay entry and membership the first night they go.... and they is the biggest thing that stops me going to more clubs, it can turn into a bloody expensive night, especially if you find you don't like, or for newbies new to the scene trying clubs for the first time....
for me... the split was the thing that took the steam out of the cafe...... rather than having one really busy forum, now you have 4 not so busy ones...
I wish they would put them back together... but they won't so no point in argueing about it
but it isn't the same site as the one I originally joined, where there was advanced by swingers for swingers now it the about a sex site and "the bottom line"
it doesn't have that feel for me anymore...
so I have changed my attitude accordingly... I am not here as much, it isn't the first place i now visit when i go home or get up.....

And to think some of you wonder why people don't bother to post in the forum anymore. confused

time out...... time out!!!!
and to be honest... where does a snipe like that help anyone :?: you didn't answer the question either... the OP wasn't flamed at all, it just took a different twist
Hopefully the OP saw the funny side of what happened... that was the humour the forum had, and people now jump on it..
I just can't be arsed posting anymore because you are damned if you do, and damned if you don't,
oh.... and as a man if i am allowed it answer... thick... and wholemeal!!!!   biggrin

Someone told me that once you make reference to Hitler or the Holocaust then the internet debate has come to the end.........or was it the persons ideas who mentions it?
I am off for a google search to remind me of this one.
Dave_Notts

it was godwins law dave.... lol
Godwin's Law (also known as Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies)is a humorous observation made by Mike Godwin in 1990 which has become an Internet adage. It states: "As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."
thanks kenty...... although i am sure mr daily mail will now try and say... yeah, but, and then whaffle yada yada yada blah blah blah......
i would love to use a comparison between you and glenn beck....but i am guessing only res and possibly nola would understand it.... (don't worry... its a fox news reference)
Quote by kentswingers777
Can you show me where they quote that? I would be interested to see that on film.
Or would you like me to show you what filth those Muslims were shouting at our troops in Luton, and btw I watched the police stand by why they shouted it. Had that of been the BNP I am sure half the metropolitan police would have been there. That IS on film.
You see there lies the problem nowadays, where to SOME the flying of the flag IS racist, as SOME see it as a symbol of racism. What a load of old poppycock.
Oh yes it is ok to spout what the BNP say or don't say, but never seem to mention what others can say. That is called selective memory.
I feel myself being born and bred in South London that to be patriotic, to SOME means I am either a Nationalist or a racist. That I am afraid is a fact in some parts of this green and pleasant land of ours.
I certainly don,t take too much notice of what the BNP says as I do not think they are anywhere near strong enough to pose any kind of threat to our way of life, can we say the same of others I wonder? For plenty of people are turning towards the BNP,and there has to ne a reason for this, and has to be addressed.

the bit in bold is the bit i am interested in...
if you are going to use it in this context, just out of curiousity do you remember how many people were protesting that faithful day in luton against the squaddies...
it was a dozen......... 12..... a football team + 1,
lets put that in the context that a daily mail reader can understand.....
that was 4 times more people that complained t actually listened to the Russell Brand/johnathon ross original broadcast to the bbc
reason i used that example.... it is funny how "Certain" newspapers like to blow things up out of all proportion.....exagerate and rouse up the masses for there own cause/entertainment...
and anyway.... I thought the right to protest peacefully was one of those things that made people proud of this country..... don't have to agree with what they say though....
would be helpful if you had a possible date in mind first... then people could see if it would be yey or a ney....

I refuse to believe it... no honestly... Next you'll be telling me Fox News isn't impartial ;-)

sssssssh....... you can't say that.. they have ears everywhere!!!! mind you.... great comedy though!!! lol

Would it possible for the Event organiser to have a note of who has been sent an invite and has yet to accept?
I know we can see the attendance list and but not invites. That way can prevent multiple invites being sent.
Just a thought .
By the way the event section is a brilliant way of organising, 10 out 10.
Thanks

I'd half agree with you.... for public parties, such as socials and munches then yes......especially since socials can include members banned from this site.....
but for private parties then no.... that is no ones business but the organisors and the people going..
I suppose I better put my name down.... run away now!!!!! lol

So you would be willing to travel say 200 miles for say friendship or to strike up a regular relationship would you?

Yes, and have done.
so have I.. and I think that people who have been here for years and years, will remember that people use to travel all over the country for the 4-5 munches a year, so maybe distance didn't mean as much then as it apparently does now....
maybe I am now in the minority where distance doesn't matter and I will try to support events all over the country where I can.... if i meet people for the "other" stuff, then that is a bonus
if you mean munch as in food.... then i hope you find what you are looking for..
if you actually mean one of these....
http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/terminology/munch.html
then... bit more awkward... but i hope you find a meet anyway

I wasn't trying to patronise at all.... if that was the way it came across, then i'll hold up my hand and apologise....
what i was trying to get across was notice (which i thought was very valid), cost (which i know is know is a very valid concern in these times), and trust in the organisor.... and that is why i suggested going to one of the bigger ones first.... get your name out there, as good as golds room is, you'll hopefully remember i have been in there once or twice not everyone knows about it or will know about it...
would i have had 120 mad people turn up in newcastle twice for munches and taken that chance on me without the support of loads of different people giving me advice..... no...
like i said, I hope your socials do go well, and without the people who organise them, the site wouldn't be half what it is......

From 'what is a munch':
'A munch is a purely social event held in a totally neutral environment'
So by that definition, Goldsmith's dinners in an hotel could, I suppose, be classed as a munch, as long as they are open to all members with no restrictions on types of member, ie. single males. You can't have a munch and say 'couples only', for example.

Exactly my point, at my event, everyone was welcome, we had singles, couples, CD's etc there and all were sh members, and it wasnt a playing environment, but it was deemed not to be classed as a munch, which would have been nice as it could have been stickied. I did wonder why at the time, but was told that it wasnt so.
I feel much better now its clearer. Thanks xx

can I also chime in for two seconds as well.... just as i have looked at what you propsed for your socials... I would also consider then socials for a few reasons....
maybe it is me... but organising a munch is a huge task (trust me... been there, done it, not really keen to do it again also i keep being asked!! lol )
a few things i would consider... your last social only gave people 10 days notice, and when you put up the original list there were already pre-ordained names on it....
another is cost... your socials are much more expensive than munches are
when you see the likes of leeds (which had 150 people there... and wigan (which already has 170 names of people wanting to go) this things are organised months in advance.... giving people time to arrange things like travel, hotels, childcare ect ect....... and are always first come first serve...
people will come from all across the country to support a munch..... a few of the southern ones have been hijacked by northerners all coming down... lol
not knocking what you do at all... and i encourage that you keep doing it, one of my biggest sh regrets is that i missed a medieval social banquet they had a few years ago.. and that is probably the closest i can relate yours too...
I wish you would put your name down for one of those see how the rest of us live so to speak... maybe then you would have more people put your name down for yours....

there are no such thing as a bad donuts....
sound like lost matey you make have had one of the best things on the planet
A Krispy Kreme Donut....
even as a adopted northerner... i'd consider moving back south for one of them....
(krispy kreme haven't discovered that the world doesn't end north of manchester/leeds yet!!! loads of shops down south and we can no get one up here within 75 miles!!!!!)

Actually you can get a pay-as-you-go option on the 3G dongle. I've not had any problems with it and the speed is superb.
Furthermore you can also buy a wifi adaptor for the 3G dongle which will give you wireless access throughout your home and allow more than one computer access to the internet.
*lover*

Yep, not had any problems with the PAYG 3 dongle here.
not had any problems with mine either....... in fact its kept me sane while the builders are in
