I admire anyone who has the guts to follow anything though, and I believe Maggie did. Good and bad points about her time as PM but I truely believe she earnt the right to be admired or hated. Either make her one of the most influential people this country had during the last half of the century.

Whilst I disagree entirely with the Phelp's beliefs and philosophies, I applaud the USA for having such an emphatic adherence to their rights of freedom of speech. Just because many don't like what they say doesn't (and shouldn't) prohibit them from saying it - something we don't have in this country anymore. As for including their children in their activities, what difference is there with all other faiths who drag their children along to worship whatever god they, the parents, do?
On a lighter note, and a bit of a hijack - I wonder what would happen if a British tourist, short of a ciggie, went up to Grandpa Phelps and asked to "ponce a fag"??!! duel

Im really sorry, for im all for freedom of speech, but to treat those children in the manner that that family do mad surely there is a sincere problem with any parent who believes there is nothing wrong not only putting the children in danger (which was proved during filming) but allowing them to carry those offensive signs, which they had no understanding off??? Is it not a parents job to protect their children dunno whether it be verbally, physically or mentally. Didnt look like that was what their intention was to me!

Probably one for the ladies... some advice please
I wear my hair short and I've just been watching something with Victoria Beckham on TV... wow, has anyone seen her new hairstyle? I love it!
The 60's hairstyle - esp. the Mary Quant look, is making a dramatic return this year, what does anyone else think? Is the 60's a good look?
lol

Its fantastic isnt it?, I'd say 'go for it' if you have trust in your hairdresser you should be able to ask them to personalise it to how it would suit you best. I love my hairdresser and am quite willing to allow him to try new things (must be my personality-i love to try new things!!!) otherwise i would still be stuck with an 80's style :giggle:

Thanks petal kiss I am an 80's girl myself and still remember my "rats tail" hehe... oh and thankyou for bringing the thread back to hair! those two were off on a tangent of their own! rotflmao
Men eh!!! I've learnt not to take much notice of their conversation, jeez they can talk :giggle:
Tho I do sympathise Dlep, Mr Grif tried for an age to grow his hair only to have it cut days before I said "I could have done something with that!!!"

I'll have a look at my recording... but it certainly was a good opener. Did anyone watch the Dr Who special Weakest Link last night? Funny funny stuff - specially when John Barrowman began singing the theme tune and the rest of the cast did the harmony!

weren't they fantastic!
would love to get a better look at his sonic screwdriver! so.......
.....any future dates on a sat are now postponed till , at least till the end of this series :giggle:

In the back of a Horsebox

Hope the horse enjoyed it as much as you
I use to wake during the night to see a young boy crying at my bedside. I must have been 8 or 9 yrs old then. Swapped bedrooms and didnt give it much thought for a while. Wasnt untill I was about 14yrs i guess, when the subject came up amoungst my neighbour (who was a couple of years older than myself) and the other local kids. We lived in a row of terraced houses and she said she use to wake to the sound of crying. Our bedrooms separated by the dividing wall...coincedence? Kids and their imaginations maybe?!?!?!
But...after talking to parents and those that had lived in the street for a few years, we were amazed to find out that a young lad had been starved and beat to an inch of his life by his father in the very house we lived, awful story and from what i learned, he died not long after that.
So a believer?....well yeah i guess I am but I do believe that its hard to have an understanding unless you have some kind of ermm experience? for want of a better word!

just hope you take your own advice if and when you have children..
I have 2 children and 2 step children.
The statement was more of a question really and im sorry if you took offence Cutepussy, but after working in the courts, seeing juveniles continuously turn up in court and living amoungst these families, there are plenty that truely are irresponsible and dont give a damn where they're children are or what they may be doing. I certainly understand that parenting isnt easy but if the parents cant handle responsibility how an earth are the kids suppose to understand it?????
Quote by Cutepussy
in my case yes bored school kids, and fact a family that likes to run the area, apperntly a one parent dad who's in the pub, bookies, doing other things other than what his kids are doing, leting them run wild.. they are lacking windows in there house, so they must think its a in thing to have broken windows..
not that i wish it would happen to the person who moaned about fact i said i hate school hoildays, but odd how they broke up and now, people are geting things smashed, i am sure you would be as annoyed if happened to you... and as been know that most crime happens when kids are off school.... so i belive
and why?.....
because they are not taught respect, they have irresponsible parents???
Public humiliation, belittle them....but not in some cosy, entertaining establishment we call prison.
Ok, ok, so ive no idea how this could be done and the stocks and rotten fruit thing is a little outdated but i honsestly believe these thugs/crims/repeat offenders would then think twice.
Those with no knowledge - generally the pimply teens, just wanna earn some beer & fag money, type - would be quite happy with a quick sale, or so we've found.
But what really gets us are those who simply do not understand how valuable our time is, those that want to tell you every detail about these wonderful purchases - you really wont know how you coped without them - and every accessory that would both enhance so called product and leave us penniless! Oh, and then we find out what the grandkids are up to next weekend and what holidays they have planned.........
How can you not be a little rude at times? mad
A worrying time indeed, for us truckdriver spouses!
After having 1 very serious accident in his truck I dont wish to go through the panic and worry of another because of the atrocious weather conditions my husband has to drive in, so those that sent messages Dambuster were right to have cause for concern, and Im sure you felt humbled at the concern shown.
Bless you very important people, for without you we wouldnt be able to go shopping and buy the latest fashions, enjoy a pint at our local or refuel our car for the journey to our first munch, So to you, Mr Grif, Dambuster and all you other drivers
Not so much a trucker, more a daredevil on our roads today, thoughts are with you all

Louise, you do pose some good and interesting questions you know! i think alot of folk just muddle through with this first steps stuff, but you, you just come right on out and ask the SH oracle (and get answers to questions alot of newbie folk are pondering too but darnt ask  )

She sure does Darkfire, not silly at all and for that, I thank you Louise.
I have fancied and fantasized about many females for a while and i have decided that I am ready to make this reality now and Im confident enough to do this. I have some 'bi' friends so I am able to chat to them quite openly about this and have realised that when I meet the right person, it will happen, no point forcing the issue as life is pretty grand as it is right now!
So many helpful responses to this thread(as always), will continue to watch with great interest.
Hats off to you Louise worship

But he's definately back and has the answer to everything, just ask Wrighty in the afternoon on Radio 2. Bloody amazing what he's learnt in the past 20odd years and yes...he is still singing!
