I posted, not so long ago, announcing that i was taking a leave of absence/ semi retirement from munching, and the site/ lifestyle in general. Ive not long got in from a nice weekeend, and a nice social drink with a few others from this site (You know who you are), and i'm coming to realise just how much i'm missing everything. Whilst i still have a diminished enthusiasm for munches, im realising just how much i'm missing the whole group ( and excuse me for lapsing into management/ therapist speak) dynamic of this site/ lifestyle. Unfortunately, for me, this site is something of car accident, its one of those things you want to, but cant, tear yourself away from - you just have to look. I went in the chat room a few days ago, and got accused of flouncing ( shock - horror) for ccoming in so soon after my departure ( thanks!)
But even that made me realise - that although generally this site is associated with the "anything for a quick shag" crowd - ive come to realise that a lot of my closest friends ( a sad indictment of me perhaps) have been made through this site, and I miss not interacting with them online, and catching up with those posts and characters, I've sadly become addicted to.
So i supose the crux of this post is to let you know that the short rest/ vacation has given me the space i needed, re-awakened my enthusiasm, made me realise that what i'm feeling is not a solitary thing, the world is generally good - and that need to keep topping up on it!

I don't suppose this will elicit much response - but for those of you who know me - I'm taking a leave of absence from SH and the swinging community/ lifestyle for a few months. I've been burning the candle at both ends a bit too much recently, and it's beginning to impact my health and sanity a little! Also, If i were to be completely honest - I've totally lost any enthusiasm i once had for munches, chats, and the forum, and rather than hang around getting more and more frustrated and fed up, I think it can only do my good to take a break, and try to catch up with all those things i seem to have neglected recently, like family, friends, and my bed!
I''ll be attending the Skeggy munch in December - by which time i will hopefully have caught up with myself, had my enthusiasm re-awakened, and be raring to go again. All i know is i can't keep on running on empty.
I'll catch up with you all then

Thankfully someone else has started the thank you thread - for a scary moment i thought it would be down to me, and knowing my luck with threads i'd probably have posted it in the wrong place or duplicated it! Anyway - I'm finally home after a mad three hour drive right after the munch - only through the door for a cup of coffee before heading into work for a fun packed 12 hour shift ( btw i was kidding about the fun bit!!!) That will hopefully explain why i was the boring, lightweight, coke drinking, fat bastard, timewasting southerner ( there did i cover everyone?) who left early to get his head down! Once again the yorks munch seems to have set the precedent for other munches to emulate- So many people getting into the spirit and going to great lengths to dress up in fancy dress! I did so many double takes each time postie and tatty came through the doors to make sure it wasn't the real old bill! Good work!

I'm afraid my sleep deprived brain and body won't allow to mention other names for fear of missing someone out - but it was great to catch up with the old faces, meet some new ones, and get the chance to chat with some I've never chatted to before. I really would have loved to stop and chat more ( and you don't know how sorely tempted i was) but thanks to everyone for making my last munch before my self enforced hiatus SO memorable - see you all in December!

My weekends are becoming rarer and rarer, and therefore i need to use the few i have catching up with family.
Therefore - the yorks munch is going to be my last official munch until december, when hopefully the break will have re-awakened my excitement of munches, and given my mind and body a chance to de-stress and catch up with me.

Firstly I have to say that the situation is not helped by people panicking, and rushing to the petrol station to top up ( in some cases just putting in a fiver to top the tank up to the limit - I know i saw it) The fuel protestors have already said they will not be blockading any fuel depots - so supplies will keep coming through.
If there were to be a shortage, long queues of the type we saw last time, and police officers controlling them, then i'm very lucky - I work in one of those industries that is considered an essential service - we'd just get given a special pass which allows us priority over others at all petrol stations - I know i can fill up at leisure.
However - as I said - I really don't think it will come to that, so i'm not really bothered. What I will say to those of you panic buying - STOP it! all you are doing is blocking petrol stations, and further contributing money and sales to the already obscenely wealthy petrol companies. Theres no need for that.
