I think we talked before on here about NiN's new album...
yeah I was a "practicing" Goth and Punk riot grrrrl thru high school to college. But while I still love the music, indeed I love all kinds of music (was just listening to my London after Midniight cd the other day..) I don't dress the part. mainly cos I just don't have the time in the mornings...

there are so many negative posts lately about members being abused, treated poorly, dumped by friends/other memebers/general public at large... and I just think it's a reallly big shame...

I was asked privately to respond to this, so here's my input:
The only way the email ady's can be linked thru the site, since ES never directly emailed DN or vice versa, is if both of you are using those email addresses as part of your contact info on this site.
so yes this would mean that we are all open to this happening, as hackers/spammers are uisng robots to trawl the site for ady's and using one against the other. This is true of almost any place on the internet where you input your contact info. I'm having trouble right now with another one of my ady's ... the actual email client was hacked and I have been sent email to this address under the guise of being the network admin saying they needed my credit card info again or my account would be terminated.
Since the only way to really lock down the site against this kind of hacking is expensive, I'd say it's best just to get the word out and that no one should open an email from another site member unless notified... also, turning up the spam guards on whatever email addresses you are using with this site.

)...I feel drawn to responding to this post... don't know why...and forgive me if I ramble.
I have to credit my family a lot for bringing me up as a person with an open mind and non-judgemental attitude. I was going to pride marches and drag shows before my first baby tooth fell out. That upbringing encouraged me to become a peer councelor for the LGBT offices where I learned how to help kids come to terms with everything from taking their AIDS meds, to what to do when their parents cut them off after they came out , to how to safely explore BDSM fetishes. I hope to raise my children with the same attitude. It still saddens me that the majority rule is still to find anything that isn't HET and monogamous in line with sick-minded behaviour...
anyway, to bring it back to what I've learned from 20 to 25 (last five years) that the heart has amazing expanding abilities and if you let it you can love so many people, that communication is the bottom line and that you can't despair even when you realize that more people are willing to hurt than to help, or even just ignore.

prolly can't do much more than echo people on here... but want to add our names to the support list...

they may need time to adjust and think, and come to realize this is not something one ends a friendship over. It could be this person acted without thinking and will come around. If that doesn't happen, than as painful as it is, she wasn't going to be a "best" friend. Since those are the ones that are there for you and put their love for you and your history together before judging. But you seem to have a large group here of people who love you for you and will be there for you no matter what.
