We had an interesting time last night . We went to the theatre and saw Boogie Nights 2 , Back to the 80's . It was'nt bad , light entertainment , a bit like Karioke 80's style . The interesting bit was looking round the audience and seeing about half a dozen faces from the school we went to around 25 years ago. The question i ask , is have any of you been to school reunoins and what were the like ?

Some bastard put a huge dent in the side of the car at Tescos this morning , walked/drove off never said a word.
Hissed it down with rain all morning , got soaked .
Took dog out for a walk this afternoon . Made the mistake of letting him off his lead . Sees a rabbit , returns to a catchable distance an hour later , soaked though again.
Satellite packs up , no footie tomorrow.

I think the National Blood Bank had a slogan a few years ago 'You never know when you might need it' . I used to see the adverts and think it would never happen to me . Well , so far it hasn't , but 5 years ago my 7 year old was diagnosed with leukeamia (a l l) . During the 3-and-a-half years of treatment , he had 5 blood transfusions , numerous 'top up' pints and countless platlet tranfusions. I used to sit at the hospital thinking 'What if they ran out of blood' .
My concience was 'pricked' , although terrified of needles ( I look away ) , you only feel a little prick (so whats new !!)
and ever since then : i've donated regulary .
My lads been off all treatment for two years now and will get the all clear in another 3 , without those donations he wouldn't have made it .
We all enjoy the banter of this board and as regular users of the Cafe proabley know one of the regulars kids is about to go though the same protocol . Wouldn't it be a massive show of support if those who are able to go went and gave blood in there area , you never know when YOU might need it.

I gave up . a total of just over 3 hours in telephone queues . Can someone please explain what the mentality of these places are ?

So i wrote part 1 on the Swingers Stories page , but its yet to appear . Part 1 may have been slow and not very exciting , but , believe me it's like a good book , it gets better and better as you read on !!!!!! . Well we thought so .

How long do they take to be verified ? Calista , my daughter has been insulin diabetic most of her life . In her case she has twice daily injections , and as long as does regular blood sugars and as long as everything she eats is in moderation , virtually nothing is off limits . She plays football , swims , plays with the boys ! and lives a near normal life.
Diabetes care is getting better all the time , and once your sugar levels are stabilised , you'll feel alot better .
