Surprised to hear they would charge you to change it, I moved in about a week ago (at last) and found a key meter. Swapped 48 hours later for a non key meter the size of a packet of cigarettes. No charge.
However if you want a rant on electricity I would love to locate the previous owners of this place. Live wire left next to the loft hatch. 6 sockets wired into the cooker 30amp supply with 2 amp lighting cable. Main oven plugged into an unswitched socket he taped to the wall behind a cupboard. Negative leads on the 30amp cooker supply melted through from an overload. Gas heating wired in reverse with negative and earth wrong way round tripping the RCD, that is once I got the old dead RCD replaced...
Oh and all missed by my surveyor as despite costing £600 they dont do electrics...
£500 pound and 2 days of my time up ladders sorting it all out and we still not found the cooker isolator switch he seems to have tiled over or sorted those sockets yet... grrr...

Never met a sat nav that could beat local knowledge, the TomTom will get you there, sometimes not the best way. Still I use it a lot anyway with the silent voice, it just updates me on speed cameras and if I am out rambling will get me home. I know have most local features in the POI system so I can easily tell it where I am going, even on a familiar route.
Also I like the ETA, which despite its desire to use motorways and A roads a lot of the time still seems fairly accurate as I take my winding back route home or to work
Last feature I love is constant road name of where you are, invaluable in an emergency as poor old amb control get so many calls from mobiles along the lines of 'I have found a car accident', ' Where are you?', 'Err...'

I have no doubts you would use sensible judgement and not bring an arsehole along - but it does set a president that it is OK to bring along anyone you know(ish) as your partner for the evening. Not all may be as sensible as you.
And before anyone suggests exceptions.... rules need to be rules! You will bring to the surface the biggest can of worms if there are exceptions made.
One thing though Polo, if you bring someone with you (after checking with the organisers of course) then you are vouching for them with your account. You would not chose to bring someone along for 'fun' as it would look bad on you, and if they caused problems it is your account on the line.
I don't think bringing a RL long standing partner along is any different to a couple both attending when they only have 1 account. Provided it is all as expected discussed with the munch organiser and your partner is not anyone banned anywhere there should be no problems.
Why should those of us who want to run as singles not couple accounts be treated any differently and not be allowed a partner if we have one at the time? (Especially as there is a charge to switch status each time) Could get expensive if you have a few short term relationships but want to go with your partner...
Well as a well known married swinger with a non play partner and no consent to play (although I can watch) I have had a good few offers... Equally I have a few friends keeping an eye on me for my own good SH is a wonderful place where you can follow your own judgements and let your own heart guide you.
Equally there is a massive element of trust in swinging, and when you break the trust with anyone there is a backlash. Some of which you have seen here, however as was noted it is good to see it remaining on the pratical advice level, rather than anything personal or insulting.
I would not dream of offering advice for you on your life and partner situation, I know from my own experience how confusing it is to love someone but feel drawn to others. For the swingers of this world who can go as a couple into this, maybe finding closure to the feelings and carrying on together life is rosy. For the rest of us, male or female, it is a minefield of choices that can affect the rest of our, and our partners lives.
So remain truthful and people will still swing with you. As to if you want to swing or maybe see what other options are open at the fringes without going all the way I leave you to explore this in your own heart.

I would avoid buying the hacked voices on ebay, people are selling stuff that the publishers made as freeware. My favourite free add in was a 'silent' voice. Great for familiar journeys where you still want to hear your speed camera POI alerts, but not get 'turn left' every 5 mins...

Ouch sorry to hear that, sheer luck my car was missed as I had the holder on the windscreen as well (although sat nav was in my bum bag, sorry to those who got hit with it by accident) Hope nothing was taken, if your insurance is like MrsTnh's hopefully windows won't hit your no claims bonus.

Just took my own advice and stumped up for a tom tom go 500 which came with 6 months traffic subscription in the box It is twice as fast as the PDA version at locking onto a route, the traffic feature is really cool, and it can even hold a sat lock in my house which the PDA couldn't :)
Not to mention the wonderful windscreen mount thing that seems really stable. Ok I cant watcm movies on it, but for navigation it great. Heck I think the traffic on way to work will be worth the money... time I spent stuck on M25.

Really depends on the phone, I have a great smartphone that is the size of a normal small phone. However it would make a terrible sat nav, no touch screen, and the display would be too small
The larger phones I have seen make decent sat nav, but they are larger. However been a few months so there could be a good comprimise phone out there I don't know about :)
