Having done motorcross cover we have used humour to get through the day just as others have said. I also know a number of paramedics and we share a 'dark' sense of humour, and the occasional opening up and sociable drink when we are more serious. It all helped, them and me.
As for bad taste humour this is part of the world we live in, there will always be people on the fringe. Yes it offends those deeply involved, and I would uphold their right to complain. However I also uphold the right of people to be in bad taste. It is part of life, certainly seems british (my american friends cant even get Blackadder and that is not particually dark), and end of the day is one of those things.
TBH from Steve Irwin's published life (as I don't know him personally) the current spate of jokes would have tickled his sense of humour in my opinion. Live and let live peeps, you may diasgaree with the dark side of some peoples humour, but look at what some people call art... Even to strike a closer home truth look at what a lot of people say about us swingers...

wow, deep thread... Amazed at how many other 'single' peeps out there with partner knowing about SH, but not wanting to know more. Maybe being seen occasionally on a webcam or typing the odd message. I to got warned that I must become a couples account since my other half was seen and getting involved with our chat session. Thanks to that she backed 100% away from the site, rules are meant to help, not hinder...
There is a simple problem as Morbious correctly identified from my earlier post about how do we see ourselves on here? I swing as a single male, my wife does not go to munches or have any interest in the site so I am on as a single but marked as married. Or maybe my wife and I both have our own single accounts since we play seperately, have our own adds, as per Morbious, same issues.
We cannot show that status in chatrooms/the site, and get abuse because of this. There is no way for anyone to know that I am part of a couple which leaves those who only want single players finding it hard to decide at a glance if they want to take things further.
All this in the end leaves a large part of the SH community, male and female feeling left out and chosing the 'wrong' status since RL and SH worlds are often different. I return to my point that we need a couple of further statuses and icons to the non extra member community along with guidelines on what these statuses are for that show should we be talking about RL, or SH worlds when we select one. (Losing the £5 charge to change would not go amis either, circumstances change in RL so maybe 1 free change per 6 months is in order for 'full' members?)
I suggest the following icons and ideas:
Single Male
Not in LTR, not married (or at least marked as seperated / divorced)
Single Female
Not in LTR, not married (or at least marked as seperated / divorced)
Single Male with partner
Non swinging partner, married but playing away with or without consent (That is something you should cover in your profile since people will expect to know), or couple with indipendant accounts who swing alone. This indicates that although you have a partner who may occasionally be involved in the site your primary activity on this site is as a single player.
Single Female with partner
Non swinging partner, married but playing away with or without consent (That is something you should cover in your profile since people will expect to know), or couple with indipendant accounts who swing alone. This indicates that although you have a partner who may occasionally be involved in the site your primary activity on this site is as a single player.
Couple
Used in either a single joint account, or as status in 2 individual accounts where these exist and swinging / site activity is normally undertaken as a couple. You should expect to meet as a couple more than as single players (although a couple may still chose to play as singles)
In 50/50 should we be couples or singles where both partners feel their play is really not more as a couple or more as singles they can simply decide which they like best icon wise.

but you get the idea anyways) I am capable of multiples if I want, my record was 7 after 6 weeks away from my girlfriend of the time. TBH though I can put so much into the first that normally I dont want a second when with the wife, but alone 2 or 3 in an evening is normal and the ejaculate does change (and get gradually less). But that is effected not the number (1, 2, or 3), but how long I was stimulating before letting fly again.

Funny you should ask Polo, I remember a thread a while back (a looong while) where people were berating someone who wanted to use protection for oral sex and saying they would not meet anyone who was so 'hung up'... There are also people who are allergic to the latex in condoms, or the lubes. There are alternatives out there but some people will always chose not to use them and just like the people who said they would not swing with someone who wanted a condom for oral, there will be couples who wont swing if you want a condom at all...

Both the wife and I agree that condoms lose some of the moment, but if the atmosphere is right you can get past that. Special note to anyone playing away (male or female) without protection, you are juggling not only with your life but your partners... if that does not make you cover up then you dont deserve a relationship... Little defence of married blokes on as single males... I am as my partner does not play. There is no 'In relationship but here as single' setting so how can you use it? If you put 'Couple' everyone thinks your wife plays.
As to affairs thats different issue and down to the individual, but since I am here as a 'single' (as in only I take part) male then I don't see using 'single male' as a lie, but actually a better representation of what I am.
Fact my wife knows all about here and that I don't 'play' has nothing to do with my status choice (which costs to change so I not going to). Little aside to those who were intimating that 'married' blokes on as single males were being deceitful...
