As another ethnic minority myself, I didn't see what was so offensive about that joke. If anything, it was annoying to see the thread locked. The way I saw it, it was another example of political correctness going mad.
PC was a concept that was meant to help people of different backgrounds fit in. But now it seems to cause more problems. Also when there is a real case of racism, it desensitises people. Whoever was offended by that joke should think about the real racism around, rather than getting upset at a joke which was most likely just that- a light-hearted joke. Personally I found it to be quit funny.

My Mother died at age 34 with a Brain Haemorrhage. She was having sex with my father at the time!
Didn't really understand it all at the time being fairly young but I suppose if you have got to go, that is the way to do it! Unfortunately dont think it did much for my father and future relationships!

That must've been quite traumatic for your father. Sex will probably never have been the same again.

But in England, of course, customers started to complain that pale, portly gentlemen were allowing their dongles to dangle so The Management made certain times clothing-optional.

Thats probably your answer! biggrin
I don't think there'd have been many complaints if they were attractive, blond, Scandinavian women (with big breasts). wink

I met an old gentleman of 90 today. During the course of our conversation he mentioned that he was having a bit of trouble & had to call the police a couple of times. Apparently his 21 year old next door neighbour has set up a brothel.
"Its not like the old days. When I was in Burma they used to charge tuppence a go" lol
Good value or what!

Convert that into local Burmese currency/learning potential, take into account inflation and you'll see it's not as good as it seems.
Still why's he complaining if he has used such services himself?

and have a pharmacist who wants to sell it to you, they take a lot of responsibility to sell you that drug and they dont exactly make a profit considering the time involved to sell it properly.
People often forget that pharmacies are private companies, and can go bust like anyone else. Retail phrmacy is not well paid, the hours are long, and the training tough.
Still apart from standing up for pharmacists a bit glad you got sorted Venus smile Got it all to come I am sure in 11 years time or so...

Thanks tnh. But I do see venuses point. The least they should have done is offer her viable alternatives. I'd consider that part of their duty of care. e.g suggesting a trip to A&E if they weren't going to dispense it themself.

h hi everyone i have something that has been playing on my mind for a while now i was under the assumption that if you are over 18 you are an adult and that SH members will agree.I was surprised when some one at a munch said to be iam too young to be there and besides as a black man your chances are next to nothing so forget having fun here and go home.i just looked at the lady and smiled ,walked away befor e i could do something very you think i should have said something sooner or was i right to just walk away .oh and for the record iam 26

Well trix, I don't think it would have been appropriate to have slapped her. But at most, she would have been speaking for herself and not about women in gneral. I have met some wondeful and sexy mature ladies, well into their 40's while I'd just turned 20, one of the best experiences I've ever had, actually it was the best time I had. (no offence to younger ladies biggrin ).
Unless there are any further complications, then you should be O.K by May. Just keep it clean.

okay, not that I;'m an expert but.......
If she's young (under about 25 or some cases 23) then brook advisory nearly always fit you in on the same day and it's free.

Cheeky buggers mad Thats ageist! A woman over that age is just as likely to get pregnant too.
But at most pharmacies, you'd get seen to straight away anyway. You just need to turn up in person with the cash and answer some questions. Also need to be over 16 too.

Actually that was the first number I tried, then once the automated service began common sense kicked in and I tried the local surgery! Methinks mum might have been panicking a little! Especially since I`m pretty sure the number I dialled first time around was an old school friend`s number I haven`t used for about 17 years! I swear to god it was her mum`s voice! rotflmao

Its also an idea to take oral contraceptives along with the use of condoms. If women are using both, failure rate is almost zero.
Quote by freckledbird
In my case, each time I've telephoned NHS direct, the 'help' I got was 'call your doctor when the surgery opens'. Very helpful. NOT.

Its more about information. Obviously they can't help when medication is required. The EHC can be effective upto 72 hours after unprotective sex, so a wait at A&E is well worth it.
Though I'll admit that they could have suggested you go to A&E if it was over the weekend etc where there would have been a delay in getting seen to.

Tis a good point Venus family planning is only open certain days of the week up here so you have to go to another surgery usually further away sad
Family planning advice should be available 24/7 even if the clinics arent opened, maybe there is somewhere but if there is I dont know about itso maybe its not well advertised enough. Just as well your daughter felt she could come to you about it, many children wouldnt.

As someone has stated, call NHS Direct on 0845 4647. For any problem, they'll always be able to help.
Quote by VenusnMars
It was the lack of information offered which pissed me off. She went to the local family planning clinic via her own initiative, but it was closed. She wasn`t sure where she stood regarding our local GP because it normally takes so long to get an appointment, and the hospital didn`t occur to her. Fortunately I`m on the ball, and we have good communication over this stuff, but I dread to think of the scenario concerning a teen who doesn`t have access to this.
Kitty, I`ve probably been the talk of the town since you, Eager, and Voddy met up with us in our local, why change the trend?!
Venusxxx

Oh come on now, where do people normally go in a medical emergency? A&E.
I wonder what would have happened if someone was having a heart attack?
Quote by fruity1976
Its bloody ridiculous the price they charge for the morning after pill. Youd think they'd make it free like it is if you get it from family planning!!
What if you dont have £25?? If they can give it over the counter at all it should be free to people it would nornally be free to on the NHS already if they need it! I mean c'mon its not like youre gonna haev a large influx of teenagers all wanting to "bump" a morning after pill for a buzz! mad

The family planning clinic get their supplies free. The staff there get paid a fixed amount, regardless of the volume of people they cater for. In a pharmacy, the drugs have to be paid for. The pharmacist needs to pay staff, overheads etc. If the pharmacist did not charge, then they would lose out. Would you go into a normal shop and expect to be served for free?
As for the encouragement of youngsters, don’t underestimate the stupidity/irresponsibility of teenagers. If it was free and allowed for all, before long, there’d probably be silly trends going around where girls would consider it fashionable to have used EHC. I remember being at school where girls considered it fashionable to take part in solvent abuse. It was “cool” to have the signs of that showing.
Quote by VenusnMars
So my daughter comes home from her boyfriend`s in a panic regarding a split condom. They`d been all over his local town, looking for a pharmacy, only to be turned away because she didn`t have the 25 quid needed mad (how good of them to direct her to the local family planning clinic etc, bloody idiots :huhsmile
So, I phoned the doctors, and explained the situation, in detail, including the time of the `event`, only to be told........
`I`m sorry, I think you have the wrong number, this is a private residence`
We got there eventually redface
Venusxxx

How old is your daughter? Is she under 16? And it depends which area you live in, not all pharmacies will be able to use that PGD to dispense the EHC (Emergency Hormonal Contraception) anyway.
Why are they bloody idiots? At least they made an effort to direct her to somewhere she could get help. If you went into a shop and didn’t have money, the same would happen. The pharmacist has to buy the EHC (and all other drugs) with their own money, so they are going to end up losing out if they gave it out for free. They only get paid after they provide the PPA (Prescription Pricing Authority) with NHS prescriptions, and only if the product is allowed on NHS.
As for a split condom, its never happened to me in all my numerous experiences.
Disgraceful. If people want to fulfill their own fantasies, they shouldn't make the rest of society pay for it in terms of the police time wasted and the cost of the chopper.
I'd have charged them with wasting police time/public nuisance etc. Basically, whatever I could.
Money is no substitute for cleanliness/hygiene.

If your using powerpoint, then you get to choose the layout of each new slide that you create.
Remember to have structure and don't forget a summary at the end, which some people forget to do.
Quote by ChairmanMiaow

You could be spending 2 yrs of ya life putting it up the 'poop shoot - (_o_)' and wondering why you lady aint getting pregnant? lol

If you learn about sex from porn, this is exactly what you'll probably try and do. That and spray it all over her face / breasts. biggrin
LOL rotflmao
I assume we are talking about pubic shaving. biggrin
Like Re-lapse said, wet the area with warm water and leave for a minute to soften skin/open pores. Use shaving cream or foam. The use of shaving oils (underneath foam etc) may help to lubricate the area more. But most of all, use a sharp razor. Also moisturise afterwards.
Sorry if I sound insensitive or blunt here. If I was in your situation, I'd tell her the truth as far as she asks. If you don't and she recovers/is told by others, then it will look like deception on your part.
You say that she was revulsed at being a swinger. If she got over her swinging the first time around, couldn't she do so again? We all have to deal with the consequences of our actions, in all aspects of life.
I sincerely hope she recovers all of her memory. Without our memories, we will lead "false" lives. The way we deal with stressful situations etc depends on our memories and how we dealt with them in the past. Our memories/experience shape the way we behave, even on a daily basis. My opinion- be totally honest in answering questions she asks. It must be a traumatic time for her anyway, but having the truth/someone to trust is better than feeling you don't know who you are to begin with.

I do think some laws are stupid in this country. For example you can get married, have sex and babies all at 16 yet you cant drive till your 17 and cant get alcohol till your 18.

And still, look at the high accident rates amongst young drivers, or the irresponsible way alcohol is consumed.

Rite....you have to be 16 to have sex.....but 18 to buy pornography.....excuse me...but surely you should buy pornography to get an incite into the real deal, and not just watch them dodgy cartoons they show you at school when sex ED comes around.
You could be spending 2 yrs of ya life putting it up the 'poop shoot - (_o_)' and wondering why you lady aint getting pregnant? lol

But pornography is about titillation, not education. I'm sure the dodgy cartoons you may have been shown, make it clear that its the vagina thats used to get pregnant.
And is it a good idea to get pregnant at 16?

This is scary---
Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 500
employees and has the following statistics:
* 29 have been accused of spousal abuse
* 7 have been arrested for fraud
* 19 have been accused of writing bad checks
*117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
* 3 have done time for assault
* 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
* 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
* 8 have been arrested for shoplifting
* 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
* 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year
Can you guess which organization this is?
Give up yet?
It's the 535 members of the United States Congress. The same group of idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep
the rest of us in line. You gotta pass this on.

Seriously, do you have any names to go with these incidents?
