no, they take the less subtle approach , 3ib lump hammer and a chisel.
i had of these in for a major spyware/trojan infestation this week , so i can confirm they are rivets. Therefore the special tool u need is a battery drill and an 1/8 inch drillbit. But wouldnt recommend it as a diy repair.

John's dead right , reformatting pointless for resetting bios password, only different thing i would say is remove cmos (complimetary metal oxide semiconductor) battery for 20 mins, not five , allthough this is not guaranteed to succeed in all cases.

its been a while , but JQL cant u also insert XP CD , set pc to boot to CDrom , and format HDD with XP ? ... pretty sure thats how i last did it
ensure u have sound drivers installed (should be on motherboard or sound card disk)
