There are LOADS of women I'd have in my three/more some, but four stand out in my mind at the moment:
Eliza Dushku (Faith, the Rogue Slayer from Buffy the Vampire Slayer):

May come back to add more to the list!
My mum is an umpracticing Catholic and my dad is C of E. I'm atheist and have been for a long time. I respect others beliefs, but I am getting a bit pissed off that others don't respect mine. An example of that was today at work. I was serving a customer (an elderly woman) and after about 5 minutes she commented that she noticed I lean my head to the left when she speaks. She asked me if I was hard of hearing, and said that I was very hard of hearing in my right ear and slightly in my left. She then asked me if I was religious. I said no, I'm atheist. "Well, that's God's way of telling you that if you won't listen to him, you shouldn't be able to listen to anybody" !!!!!
I bit my tongue after that and helped her as fast as I could otherwise I'd have drop kicked her out of the Store. I know this is possibly an inflamatory comment, but I honestly feel that a lot (not all) of religious people need to practice what they preach. Tolerance of others is not just tolerance of people of similar faith - It's tolerance of ALL faiths (including those who don't have one in particular)......
Whilst I DON'T believe that Humans are completely responsible for Climate change, there are things that Humans have done to make matters worse. A lot of people don't seem to realise that the Planets climate pattern is a CYCLE. Due to the way that it revolves around the sun, over thousands of years we get closer and closer to it, resulting in the temperature etc rising. After a few thousand years, it will then move further and further away.

It would seem that we are at the end of an "Ice age" which would explain the sharp decrease in global ice. I think that once again, information has been misinterpreted and panic is the result due to Humankind not having records to show previous Ice ages.
It is everyone's responsibility to take the information and make an INFORMED decision on what to do to make our effects on the planet less damaging. To say that we are COMPLETELY responsible is misinformed - to say the least. As for the monetary aspect - well Kenty, you know someone will make a quick buck out of any situation wink

And before anyone says, that's not perverse...it just isn't. Goldfish. Now that's perverse...

Maybe, but they'd never remember it lol
I've been told that when my hair is a little too long and brushed back I kinda look like Egon Spengler from Ghostbusters (albeit, a greyer haired one....) rolleyes
I can see their point....doesn't mean I have to accept it though

*punches an imaginary fist into imaginary thin air in a Rocky-esque victory roll*
Disclaimer... a victory roll, isn't like a sausage roll and should not be eaten.

Why not? Most people have to eat Humble pie at some point.....why not a Victory roll?
I just KNEW that if I replied on this thread something will go wrong rolleyes
My rota has been changed, so I can't go. I have tried to get it sorted out, but I've been told that I have to do the shift given to me.
I'll remember what they said next time they want a favour off me
Next time perhaps sad

Those who don't know me may have realised that I'm a huge Japanophile. I've been once and intend to go back at least once more before I shake off this mortal coil. There are other things that I love the beauty of.... but I haven't found images that show how beautiful they are ... yet.

Am also reading a couple of Pratchett books (Nightshift and Making Money) in between too lol

not read them yet, have all of his books but have kinda gone of him a bit on the last 6 or so
I've read them at least 5 times each (hardback versions biggrin )
I can see what you mean Earthy, as his style of writing has changed - it's inevitable, but even so, they are still worth reading even if you get Library copies than buying them. I need to get round to getting all of them, as I only own about half of them (although I have read them all). Wouldn't mind getting the "Science of Discworld" books too - I have the first one, but lack of money has meant the amount of books I own is not as many as I'd like.

MiRC

redface When I joined the Chat room in Aug 2005 (as Dlep in chat, Plum in forum) I spent every waking hour in there (literally) I think I still have the (unofficial) record for longest time spent in there (which as I recall was 2 days, 5 hours and 32 minutes, and that's only because my laptop of the time crashed  ) *Ahem*
The reason why I had two names concurrent was because I used the chat rooms to start off with and then was encouraged to use the forum (October 2005). I chose Dlep. However, when the site was taken over every user had to have only one name, and Dlep was deleted. When I was asked to be a Chat Op, I requested my name to be changed as most people had by then known me as Dlep and not Plum, so it was changed.
Now most people call me various names "Dollop" being most common, although as you can see from my signature there are an increasing amount of other nicknames I'm called now too rolleyes

Too lazy to read back. But if anyone using avg 8.5 upgrades to avg 9 expect problems if on XP. Quick fix is to disable link scanner. Web pages can fail to load fully etc. Plus i was unable to download divx whilst avg was running. Also not easy to close down like past versions.

I'm not techie, but i think maybe this might apply to me. Can't see any pics on profiles, can't receive any invites to view pics, can't click on the bug report link, can't change and save anything on my profile, can't open emails properly and open forum posts properly without several attempts.
I have XP and use AVG  Have to find me a techie by the look of it!
Long time no see Tabbi kiss
As I said in my previous post - AVG is well known for getting genuine sites and programs confused with Viruses. Avast is easier to use, FREE, updates regularly without you having to ask it to and I haven't had ONE virus or malware attack my computer. I also use Zonealarm too.
If it's not AVG then it might be possible that the browser is faulty. One way of checking is to either change browser or to uninstall and then install the latest version as sometimes automatic updates don't run properly.
Firefox

Safari

Google Chrome

I don't use Internet Explorer any more, but if you do prefer it (or don't want to try the above) then the link to the latest version is:

Hope that helps biggrin

Res
but you forgot to also add the catch-all phrase "in my opinion" that some folk think grants immunity from any thought/sensitivity to others.
It usually precedes the final wink

And never forget the phrase used at the end of a post (or said in person).....
"No offence"
rolleyes
I'm working my way through the "Horus Heresy" books. When the final book is released next year (estimated), there will be 15 books in the series. I'm on Book 6 "Descent of Angels" at the moment, mainly due to the fact I haven't found book 7 or 8 yet and I haven't gotten around to ordering them at Waterstones (or where ever) yet.
Am also reading a couple of Pratchett books (Nightshift and Making Money) in between too lol

Can anyone help please.
I am having real problems with the new site. I can log in and it takes about 5 minutes to bring each page up, whether it is the forum pages or just browsing the site. I have tried clearing temporary internet files etc but still taking forever to load pages. Getting a little frustrated now as cant access the forum pages as taking too long to bring the pages up :-(

IF you are using Internet Explorer....stop.
Use Mozilla Firefox.....do not have any problems at all with it.
Only a suggestion though.
Not only Firefox - Safari or Google chrome. Each one is better on a bad day, than Internet Explorer is on a good one rolleyes

Trying to cahnge my avatar but it wont let me, any advice?

Is the file the right size?
Quote by Admin
The maximum avatar resolution size is 110x110 - 2MB file size.

In Edit - just seen Dleps post - I just changed mine no problem. Did you click save???
Think you were right, I had the size wrong smile
It was down to the wrong size redface
I've been so used to most fora that I use having 120x120 that I didn't think about the possibility that it may have to be smaller.....

go to settings on the left...then the forum tab...
are u trying to use a pic that hasnt been approved yet??

I've tried putting a new avatar on, and as far as I can see the way you do it has not changed.
However, everytime I try to put one on it refuses to accept it. I've changed the size (as in pixel size and file size ) checked that the avatar is in jpeg format, and it STILL won't let me up load one.
Very annoying! mad
Ditto!
Have managed to get a new one up. The dimensions have to be 110 by 110 pixels and. Found out by looking at the "New site" thread as Admin had replied to my post there.
Thanks admin biggrin

I'm having trouble changing my Avatar rolleyes
If someone could reconfirm file size, file type and file dimensions before I assume it's the site please?
I was under the impression that a 120x120 jpeg at about 15k would be okay, but the site is having none of it
The rule (or law) of statistics means that there should be AT LEAST one other person where I work who, at the very least has a curiosity about Swinging.
I haven't found them......yet lol
I'm not sure I want to either  Well, I'd be very  if it was a couple of the ladies that work there, but a lot are :scared: (And not JUST because of their looks either.... )

I used to use AVG, but it soon became obvious it confused genuine programs and sites as viruses etc far too often for me, so I use Avast now and have no problems with it.
I watched the episode on iPlayer last night and it was okay. Not the best, but I have seen worse.
As for my favourite incarnation, I really don't have a dislike of any of them, although "My Doctor" (i.e. the one I grew up with) was mainly 5, 6 and 7. The 8th was I suppose my least favourite, not because Paul McGann can't act, but because the film was pants! I will admit that I was reluctant to accept the 9th and 10th doctors as I didn't think the actors would be suitable, but I was glad I was proven wrong biggrin
I'll have to reserve judgement (again) for the 11th. I'm just wondering if the BBC is still stay in canon and limit the Doctor to 12 regenerations (as in 13 Doctors)?

Same here - the system we use gets updated every 6 months or so usually without any warning and then we have to spend all day trying to serve customers without computers which is okay to a degree as I know where most of the 2000+ items are in my department, but if I have to order from another department (and give the customer a print out) then it's :mad:surpriseduch::fuckinghell::dry::roll::mad::scared:dunno:shock:blink:doh::upset:evil:gagged::giveup:

Hello - Thought I'd better post again to confirm - I have no way of getting down there for the forseeable future as the car is still broken and I can't afford to take the train so I can't go sad
Maybe get a chance to see you both early in '10 biggrin
