Our sincere apologies, unexpected problems developed with the site servers which we've now been able to get under control.
Sorry for the problems regarding opening rooms in the chat room, we can confirm the technical team managed to resolve this last night.
Shrep is currently offline but it will be brought back today.

We've also changed the Meet Today option on the home page so it's a little more user friendly so you can choose how long you want to be on the list for.
The search updates three times an hour so at 18 minutes past, 38 and 58, you should see the records update :thumbup:
We want to plan this out better later on, and may incorporate Events into it as well, so we'll develop this further as time goes on. But for now, happy meeting wink
Full credit and our gratitude to Ben_welshminx, helped us locate the problem which has now been fixed.
This was happening when you click onto the username from the chat text area then click whisper, rather than click on the username from the members list on the right then whisper.
Our sincere apologies to those who experienced this issue.
Regrettably there's a glitch with the distance calculations at the moment.
If a user has their preferences to prevent other members calculating a distance from their location (customised under Settings), naturally it won't show any distance information. What's happening at the moment is that all of the distances that can't be calculated are at the top of your list, followed by the nearest first records, which isn't clear at all so I can see where the confusion is coming from.
The order needs to be shifted so the nearest first is at the top of the list, followed the the rest of the users that can't be calculated, perhaps ordered alphabetically rather than randomly.
An update should follow later today to fix this.

The error message on the Home section and also the Gallery was due to a server restart, it shouldn't have lasted for no longer than just a few minutes. Apologies to those who were affected.

Share Room Ownership
You can now share your room ownership with other users, this is great if you're leaving the room and want to pass off ownership to another user, or if you simply want help to control the mayhem. To do this, click on the user in the user list and hit the button called 'Share Room Ownership'.
Block Users
You can now block a user from whispering you permanently, to do this click on a user and hit the 'Block User' button. You can view and manage your blocks in the 'Chatroom' section on your Swinging Heaven account settings page.

The chat room Swinging Heaven account settings is accessible under Settings > Chatroom. It has been launched as a separate blocking list and does not currently take into consideration your friends. However should by accident someone be accidentally blocked, via the settings, this has quickly be reversed.

Is this just me? or is it something that can be resolved? I think others are experiencing it too. Should i raise a ticket thing? or is it something that will be resolved while you're sorting other things out?

I'm currently trying to track how this happens actually as a couple of people have reported this. Could you answer a couple of questions to help me?
When does this start happening?
What is your web browser?
Does it occur in the first room that you join or after changing rooms?
Are you scrolling up to see the previous chat then back down via the scroll bar, the down arrow icon, mouse scroll or down arrow on your keyboard?
Are you resizing or maximising the chat room window at all?
Whilst viewing the blank white page, hold down both Ctrl and F5 keys both together - this should clear the cache and reload the page so you join the chat room.
Failing that, you can delete your temporary internet files / cache - if you are unsure how to do this, just let me know your browser name.

We're currently tracking a bug with the new beta chat room that presents the 'Invalid callback request' message that some members are experiencing. Removing your Cookie for Swinging Heaven may clear the problem, or by logging out of the site then back in, however we're working on a better solution.
In the meanwhile, you will still be able to access the Old Chat room by following the prompt to do so under the chatroom link.

You can turn off this display by selecting the information (I) icon.

Yesterday at midday we launched the new photo and video viewer and added this to the top of your home page when you log into the site:
New Photo and Video Gallery! We have upgraded the photo and video gallery to enhance usability and performance. You can now receive and submit Comments on the gallery. You are in full control of your own materials on the site and you can opt out of this system by customising your Photos and Videos Privacy Settings. We welcome you to contact us with your feedback via the Help Centre.

You can customise your privacy options with regards to receiving comments on your photos by following the Privacy Settings prompt in the above text.
If any technical support is required or you wish to report a bug or fault with the new system, please follow the Help Centre prompt.
We'll also take constructive feedback on board :thumbup:

I don't like bringing up personal matters into an open forum, but GnV, you have my account on block, so I'm afraid my replies would be hidden from showing up in your mailbox.
Having a referral feature is something that we've always wanted to add to the site. Running a site of people, getting new people on the site is one of our goals. If there's just one person that invites someone here who then joins, that's one more than we would have got.
If someone doesn't want send any invites, I suspect they'll just ignore it. From what I know most members have a 'swinging' email account separate to their 'real life' one. I guess they'll invite contacts from that address book to the site, or if they know any addresses off the top of their head, type those in themselves - we're not expecting members to invite friends and family as that would just be silly.
To follow, top referrers will be rewarded with an incentive backdated to when the referral system was launched, but for now, to keep tongues wagging, I won't say what that is.
