I love Fred's new look - it's so happy, so carefree, so inoffensive and so small. And the avatar isn't that big either, it's not exactly hitting the onlooker between the eyes.
It's the exception that proves the rule. No one needs a great staring phallus on an avatar (or even a flaccid member for that matter), but a happy, naked man makes everyone smile at its sheer joyfulness.
Similarly I like Dawn's new avatar - gorgeous cleavage and a glimpse of delights. (Actually I am green with envy - but that's another story!)
The aesthetics of this site just get better and better!

I am shocked, terrified and deeply affected by what you have written. You have shared something so personal and intimate, yet so wounding and frightening.

The only Valentine's cards I ever received were when I was a kid and my Grandad used to send them. The I lived with a man for several years who didn't believe in romance or cards or gestures. I gave him a card on our first Valentine's Day. He wet himself he thought it was so ridiculous. I didn't bother after that.
Only do something if you really mean it - and it doesn't have to be a card. Personally I do appreciate flowers (that isn't a hint!), but it's enough to know that someone somewhere is thinking about you with passion.
What more could a girl ask?

To answer your points in turn, yes advertising can attract its share of oddballs, but there are a lot of genuine people out there too. It depends if you're willing to sift through and find them.
