hmmmm, a delightful can of worms...!
There is a huge amount of stuff written on this site about what swinging actually is. Some approach it by definition, some by experience, some by desire. What's for sure is that there is no common ground and many members make the dangerous assumption that what they do is "correct." There are many mentions on this site, typically, "we all know what we're here for" which couldn't be further from the truth.
Would you really wish that this subject be brought further into the public eye..?
The documentaries etc. that we've seen on tv don't really explore the lifestyle thoroughly other than trying to dismiss the key-rings in the bowl cliche.
Personally, the deeper it's buried the more comfortable we'll be..!! We'd so hate to be tarred with the wrong brush.

Don't forget that the British Isles has been a melting pot of cultures, creeds, languages and religons for a huge number of years. Now we tend to discuss and legislate rather than persecute and burn. Don't forget that the traditional xmas is pretty much a victorian thing and the guy in the red suit is a coca-cola invention. I, for one, don't envy the politicians...it must be a tricky course to steer.
Luckily we're all agreed that another bank holiday wouldn't go amiss..!!

I think history will show us as a superpower fallen from grace and slightly trampled on by others. For a while we pushed the envelope of science, technology and literature whereas now, I get the feeling, we only merit the occasional blip on the screen.

Generally our experience so far is that the forums and the chatrooms are 2 separate animals.
When in the chatroom we get more and more pissed off by the minute until we finally go aaaarrrggghhh and close it.
I'm sure with time we'll plot a sane course through it...though we're not holding our breath.
I think a few more permanent rooms might solve a few problems.

as mentioned previously, 5 is just not gonna be enough..
1........the new style ring pull. Always trapping my moustache in them and bringing tears to my eyes. Bring back the old style that you can flirt at people.
2........crap spelling / grammar / punctuation in adverts and forums. Chatrooms are fine 'cos speed is needed but in adverts etc. there's no excuse.
3....... adverts from couples with pictures only of the female.
4.......SKY tv, slowly lobotomising the masses.
5.......Fuel protestors.

hmmm....even allowing for the fact that the above sentence doesn't actually say anything coherent i don't think it's too hard to see the intent behind it. ie the site is not to be used for owt illegal....and quite right too.
But to ban someone for suggesting recreational drug use seems a trifle harsh.
A recent post regarding speed cameras and the promotion of speeding went unpunished as did an earlier reference in this very post.
right, just climbing down off this here soapbox and then i'm gonna get my morning nescafe fix.
