we see loads that we like the look of - but because we prefer to meet local people (thats the reason why we put it on our profile), we dont mail them !
People put specific things on their profiles for a reason....so they dont get the opposite of what they are looking for.
Anyhow............the question wasnt about OUR profile it was merely an observation that nowadays there seems to be a hell of a lot with location "unknown" - but thanks for the comments (we did sorta figure the obvious in the first place)

having perved a fair ammount of profiles and taken a look at several of the ads, I can say that I have the same perception...
single black males seem to be very much sought after..as not everybody wants to meet a couple, but apparently just about everybody is looking for black males...(lucky buggers)
I have considered shoepolish..
it seems to work, in the movies. :giggle:

I was chatting to my Sister earlier today and she was telling me about this package. Its basically to help boost the economy. I think Japan are following suit soon with same sort of thing.
My sister, hubbie and daughter all received $900 (about £400 I think) each. They can spend it on whatever they want.
Is it really helping the economy though??? Or will it just slow down the process of a recession? Will it give a false picture of what's really happening economically?
I'm hopeless at this sort of thing - but I was interested in the concept of it.
Would it work here? Do you think it would happen in the uk?
Axx
The Australian government has announced a A$42 billion (US $27 billion) stimulus package to help the economy avoid recession due to the global financial crisis. The package provides A$12.7 billion in cash payments to Australians and A$29 billion for construction and infrastructure spending. Following are details of the key items in the stimulus package:
TAX BONUS, CASH PAYMENTS: The stimulus provides for cash payments of $950 each to low and middle income workers, farmers, single income families, families with school children and to adults who return to study. More than 10.6 million Australians will receive at least one of the cash payments.
CONSTRUCTION AND INFRASTRUCTURE: Money to fund building projects at 7,500 schools, money to build 20,000 new houses for the poor, funding to provide insulation for all Australian homes and money for road projects and to build boom gates at railway crossings.
Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said the Treasury estimated the plan would boost economic growth by 0.5 percentage points in 2008-09 and -1.0 points in 2009-10, supporting up to 90,000 jobs.

I am starting this topic from a different angle to another topic called uninvited whispers
Continuously whispering when not invited is plain bad and ignorant and there is no place for them in chatrooms. Also whispering in a room that states no whispering is also not on.
But they are there for a reason - a person wants to say something without the others in the room reading it.
Before I whisper I read that persons profile
If the profile says that they don't want whispers - I don't.
If the profile dosn't - then I always ask myself
1. do I ask that person if I can whisper and send the message to everyone
or 2. do I whisper the words "please can I whisper?"
I prefer the second because if I did the first way I might look a perve (we all are). Alot of us are shy and don't want others to know we want to whisper. However if I get a whisper or a message in open chat saying no or no reply - I don't continue.
There should be nothing wrong with ONE uninvited whisper.
Let me know what you think especially from those who try to responsibly whisper

It is certainly early days, and many changes have been accepted in the past which were initially met with concern - however - I feel it has resulted in the forum being too fragmented.
I feel we have lost the sense of cohesion we had when there were just 4 forums, and I am quite confused about where new threads should go.
I don't feel comfortable flicking between all the different forums, it makes me feel a bit nauseous, tbh.

People not showing up is the plague of Internet meeting sites. Believe me, I have arranged meetings -- and travelled a long way to get to them -- only to be met with no-shows. However, if we arrange something in London, at least we'll show up, won't we?
