Ha ha, this is the mystery object...

The lens is a Canon EFS60mm f/2.8. My most favouritest toy.
Yep, I remember when you said it too!
Winchy crowned Smug Princess :smug:
Got a message from another fellow cacher today and having been planning to release some more of our own, thought back to that very thread.
K
Not sure who knows about geocaching, but one of the best bits for us is Travel Bugs 'n Coins.
They are trackable trinkets that can physically travel all over the world, logged in and out of geocaches by others who share our odd hobby.
An example of one is which was on its way from California to Beijing but appears to have got stalled along the way in Oz.
I am going to set up a new account and register a SH TB and set it going so we can see how far it will get.
Problem is, geocaching is very family friendly and can be down right conservative in places, particularly over the pond where the hobby originated.
( Sadly for Harry, his thong cache was a non-starter!
So, can you help us figure out a goal/theme that is suitably 'clean' to give this to set it on its way in honour of SH, this other great hobby of ours!!
ARACHNAPHOBES BEWARE!!!
Playing with my macro lens and spotted this little guy basking in the VERY RARE bank holiday weekend sunshine.
Gotta be 4 for documentaries, dramas, the Now Show and the News Quiz when on and of course the sublime and much missed Humph on ISIHAC....and the Archers redface
Radio 2 for Wogan in the morning once I've had my news fix and/or if I hear that there's going to be a Janet & John story on. ( Also if I get too mad at John Humphries getting rude with his interviewees! )
Also 2 for Ask Elvis and the Big Quiz ( sadly no more since the phone in scandals ) on Steve Wright.
I also happen to adore Stuart Maconie (who I think is going to be the next John Peel, if he could ever be replaced) and Mark Radcliffe.
Strange, because it is down to John Peel that I started one of my fave hobbies, geocaching, when I heard about it on Home Truths, and as it turns out Stuart Maconie is into walking/hiking and has previously mentioned geocaching on his show and articles.
OK, I'll shut up now as I'm sure thats shown me up quite enough for the geek I am!!
Can ou really count a single individual in chat as a bully?
Pain in the arse, fecking nuisance.....but bully?
After all, they are at the end of a fiberoptic cable, not stood next to you in the school playground.
Having said I do believe that a number of people acting in sync can be bullying. The group of chatters all known to each other, ganging up with snidey comments and put downs can be a powerful force to have to stand up to.......
......but I do!!!
Sorry if this is off topic, but do you realise that the mention of this 'inner circle' just perpetuates the whole clique mythology that this forum suffers from!
Back on topic, per Sassy's original post....I suffer badly from impulse action....particularly at work. To the extent where I will now try to compose letters/emails etc then review and send the next day because sometimes you can just get so caught up in the moment that you are not seeing the full picture clearly.
Step away from the keyboard, Sassy, take a few deep breaths....
...go geocaching!!!...
Then think about that delete account button.
You might not change your decision, but you'll be doing it clear headed.
Got a recommendation in chat last night and I think these could be my next must have.
Multi strap suspenders...must have been very sheltered as I've never spotted these before.

I think I'm in love
A bit ticked off with the weather here too, can't get out to play....no fun.
Here are a couple of oldies.
The Colliseum by night.....camera was perched on a rubbish bin to get a nice still shot!

(btw, is that a pubic hair on the rose? ;-))

Sorry for poor etiquette of bumping my own thread, but only on a swinging site would you get this comment.....cracked me up! And, no it wasn't, I'm an amateur and didn't even spot it until it popped up on the big screen. redface
We've got the Canon EOS-40D - this was taken with an EF60mm f/2.8 macro lens. I'm only starting out, Harry is the camera expert, but the Canon rocks!
This is a lovely shot......I wish it had stayed anywhere near still enough in my garden recently so I could get a bit of practice with the macro lens.

Here is another wee shot from me...not very artistic but sexy as hell to a biker...
Its never been the same for me since they did away with the shiny buttons. redface
Nope.....I had two very hard working parents and several very hard working older sibs and I'm a fecking layabout rolleyes lol
Disco......welll...its gotta be anything from Saturday night Fever.....
But especially..
Reggie's thread kind of inspired me to ask......what Abba song are you....or which inspires you...or which just means a lot to you.
If not an Abba song....then just post your own song/band anyway.
I saw Mamma Mia the Movie a couple of weeks ago and it got me blubbing a couple of times but nothing near my favourite....this one.

Not sure if it's being Scottish and being brought up with the thought of New Year being a bit magical and a new start etc....but I'm bawling like a babe within the first few lines.

Goosey,
I'm so glad you've found a soulmate (by the sound of things).
But this place is so much more than just a place one comes when you are lost or lonely.
Don't let 'anti-things' get to you. Be strong and let this be a place you happen to frequent whatever the weather. We enjoy you being around.
.

Goosey, glad to see you're still around. If it was me, the thread above would have changed my mind....and I'm not going anywhere.
Wise and thoughtful words.

Ok ... thanks for the replies ...it`s pretty much what I thought wink
The reason I asked is because, not only, has mrs f been invited to a family wedding without me, but she has accepted without telling me...I`ve just managed to wheedle it out of her !!!
I have no idea when she was intending to tell me !!

it means she still intend to go without you, sorry it harsh but true!
Not necessarily, could have been trying to sort out extended invite etc before mentioning so as not to offend.
There is one thing certain, a wedding is the ideal opportunity for offences either indended or unintended...

A fly trying to have sex with a ladybird on my desk was quite amusing.

Hope you got a photo....thats would have been a good op for my new lens...

If he'd have lived his name would have been as famous as Ago and Mike the Bike.

He is as famous as they are because I haven't heard of them either!! confused :? :? :? lol   wink
Ah bless, you'll probably still not know even if I say Giacomo Agostini or Mike 'the Bike' Hailwood!
But thats OK, because those that know will know. If you know what I mean......you know :giggle:
Nope, the scrolly mousy thing is a hard plastic thing. You can feel it sort of ratcheting as it moves so I'm sure its not just slipping. It rights itself when I reboot, but I'd like to avoid having to do that by figuring out why it does it.
After a couple of years of working directly with IT stuff from a non-techie background though, I'm learning that there are no easy answers and often reboot is the only answer for some of these quaint little foibles.
Yep, have to agree with the OP - lets just take the thread as intended. There are all sorts of heroes, sporting heroes just being one of them.
Harry says.......his vote is for Jarno Saarinen. Harry's been a bike fan for a long long time!
Jarno, familiarly known as the Flying Finn, or to his home fans, The Baron, he was heading for a magical dual championship, aiming to win the 250 and 500 in the same year back in 1973. he'd won the first 3 250 races and the first 2 500 races when he was tragically killed at Monza.
'Fast' Freddy Spencer finally did the 250 & 500 double in 1985 but burnt out in the process and never raced as successfully again.
Jarno is the man that practically invented the knee down riding style, perfecting it during ice racing and speedway in his early career and shortly after picked up and perfected by Kenny Roberts.
If he'd have lived his name would have been as famous as Ago and Mike the Bike. Sadly not to be.
( All of the above care of Harry, not me! )

Yes, I really like the composition of this one.
Lovely variation of colours and shapes.
Very nice.
Why does my scrolly mouse thing stop scrolling? redface
It does everything else, but periodically the scrolly wheely thing just stops working. How come?
Hope this is techy enough for this thread :giggle:

If there is a genuine claim for injuries thats fine but those that seek to pull the wool and claim injuries they dont actually have get right up my nose and only help to push up insurance premiums even more with their fraudulant claims...

Here here!
I'm in that very industry and sick to the back teeth of people doing exactly that.
Why see a doctor if you have no symptoms, he doesn't have any more of a crystal ball than you do. If you start to feel pain, then see him.
In my experience if there are no symptoms, the doc isn't going to be able to do much anyway.
Love my berets, one raspberry coloured, after the song and one a nice camel colour that goes with lots of things.
Not really a baseball cap person but I've a few that I've gathered from various events over the years. Last couple were freebies from the rugby in Rome last year.
Also have a tweed trilby style hat that I used to wear in winter.
Harry occasionally sports a baseball cap and he has an outdoorsy type hat similar to that one of Steves but would never have known it by that name.
The eye colour is dead genuine. If I'd thought we could sneak him through customs, he and his little sidekick would be resident in Yorkshire right now.
After the news today, how about...
Freddy-Mac and Fanny-Mae!

Fab, choon! Love running water....if you get my drift redface
I'm not fully au fait with with my f-stops and my aperture or shutter priority. But the one thing I will take ages over is composition of the shot.
I'll wander around for ages to get a 'perfect shot' and use a bean bag and my new Gorillapod to get different angles and views...I've been known to do that cheesy framing with my fingers nonsense. surprisedops:
Having said that....to check out your composition, try comparing it against the golden rules, either rule of thirds, triangles, rectangles or spiral, to see how you've done on the 'ideal' composition.

Go to the tools section to try your pic against the 'rules.'
You'd be amazed how many of these shots that you thought were pretty impressive but are more than that...they are absolutely BANG ON the perfect composition, according to maths!
Tan, that firework shot is stunning.
Here are a couple of iconic figures from either side of the pond.

Sorry about all the size jumps, forgot I'd loaded and resized some at different times.
