I have to say this legislation seems flawed . You can read it that couple having sex in the car park at Alton Towers could accuse an adult supervising a bunch of schoolkids who asked them to stop of committing an offence. Or am I missing something , maybe this means the shaggers can be fined for outraging public decency , and the complainer can be fined for seeing it . I worked in Industrial Sales for years, believe me keeping the business fed with orders that they can make at a profit isn't easy , and no one ever thanks you from either side . However we were dealing with pros,and with their buying power you had to respect them . Grooming is a thought crime , like going to Portugal where in the Home secretaries opinon you might cause troulble . When combined with a mind set that wants to introduce ID cards and make us answerable to the state rather than the other way round , then it's worrying. The control freaks are very clever , and will use our natural desire to keep our children safe to gain control . As earlier posts have said , fewer elected assemblies and secretariates and expenses etc etc , and more in frontline Police budgets is the way forward . I personally bowed to peer pressure as a teenager and have now been smoking for far more years than I care to admit to myself, but I have the "excuse" that I was young, stupid and of the "it won't happen to me" school of thought (I guess I'm still in that school now, or I'd have made a more concerted effort to stop). But adults?? Surely they should have much more sense?
:Reading this is quite scary , I was given a lit cigarette when I was 14 , and so it was cool at that there was peer pressure as well I just did not like it and never touched another one. Knowing what I know now I realise i was within a few lungfuls of being hooked for life , and I could be dead or maimed by now .
